Be Careful guys, if its too good to be true then it's probably isn't. No bank would give away $1500 away for just $5000 deposit. Wells Fargo has a dirty history of scamming people
Yes and some of their employees scammed you and I and the rest of the American taxpayers.

10 years ago, there were many Wells branches in southern CA. They are being replaced by Citi and Chase branches.

TIN required, good add to wiki!

+this verbiage causes me to immediately exit the thread, whatever it means/correlates to.
Business Account Addenda (PDF)
Deposit Account Control Agreement
Account maintenance per month $275 per account
Setup/Amendment $965 per agreement

What bank wouldn't require a TIN? It's required for any account.

And where do you see anything about the maintenance fee? Or setup fee for that matter? You can avoid the $10/mo fee if you keep $500 in the account.

I have this same offer at home that I was planning to apply for! I guess I won't be doing it based on your experience.
I did the same deal a few months ago and had no issues. There are always going to be occasial issues, but I've also seen others get it with no problem. I opened the account at a local branch and did transfers after the account was open for a while though.

be aware of my recent experience with Wells Fargo. Tried opening a wells fargo account mid march after getting a mailer from them. Mailer said I could get a $325 bonus by opening personal checking account. Opened the account at night, was approved said I qualified for the bonus, etc. The next morning I get an email from their fraud department that they closed my account. When I called them, they told me it was a "business decision" to close my account (essentially that they don't want to do business with me). There was no way to keep it open. Anyway, when I set up the account I ACH transferred $200 from my other account. This ACH transaction still went through a few days later but never showed up in Wells Fargo because the account was already closed.

Been back and forth with both banks. Wells Fargo tell me to call my bank because they have no record of the transaction. My other bank tells me to contact Wells because it's an ACH transaction. Bottom line is, money was debited from my account by Wells and they refuse to do anything about it. Tried everything. This very well could be Well Fargo's new scam.
If the receiving account has been closed prior to processing then the funds cannot be processed and will be returned to the sending bank. So I do not know if this is a legitimate concern about this bank. I do think its a bit suspect that they closed your account for no reason. But your fund transfer should be returned back to you.

Doesn't look like the requirements are that tough to open, but there are a TON of fees for everything. You need a minimum of $5000 DAILY balance, (so never drop below that) but once you deposit more than your first $5k it looks like there's a fee on those deposits too.

The main fee I saw was the $75 monthly fee. But even if it takes them 3 months until they pay you (60 day minimum then 30 more days until bonus pays out), it's $1500 - $225 = $1275 gain in the end.

Here's the link to the requirements, and then there's a pdf of 14 pages of fees...yep 14 pages listing all the fees.

https://bonusoffer.wf.com/smallbi...ingoffer3a

The bonus is good, but with all those fees I feel there's a "gotcha!" buried in there somewhere. Wells isn't known for their upstanding banking practices...
that is unless they they don't close your account on day 59, then you will be out of $225 . . .

don't expect them to refund you the fees that they charged, because contractually they can close your account at any time.

Deposit $5k and keep the balance until the bonus posts.

Initiate Business Checking is the account you want to open. There shouldn't be any fees if you have an • $500 minimum daily balance.

Cash depositing fee is free for the first $5000 and anything over $5000 will incur a fee. So don't deposit more than 5k or better yet just leave the account alone. I dont know what the hell is this $75 fee you mention but looks like it might be for the Optimize
Business Checking .

Not sure if things have changed, but back in the day you can open up a sole proprietor account with your social and not require a TIN/EIN.

My experience with wells fargo: someone tried to open an account in my name. Wells Fargo had sent me a letter saying more info was needed to open an account. I called them and told them I never tried to open an account with them and to make sure that this wouldn't happen. And I talked to the fraud people hoping to learn of the info stolen from me. They said they'd call me back with the info (my info) that was given to them to open this account (probably someone stole my ss #.) But I called back and called back again and again and they said it was probably my social that someone stole and used but they wouldn't tell me even though I'm sure they had that info. They said they would send a letter that contained my stolen info that was used.

I waited...
And waited..

....meanwhile - almost 6 months later - I finally got a letter from WF giving me info on fraud prevention but still no information about what was used to try to open an account.

You're right, I was just looking over it closer now. The Optimize Account is the one with the $75 fee, and the Initiate is the one with the small fee that can be waived for the $500 minimum. Thanks for catching that!

Still seems too good to be true. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't $1500 on $5000 a 30% return on investment?

Banks usually give .01% interest, and even "High Yield Savings" give .5% interest. I realize interest and bonuses are not the same, but 30% return on ANYTHING seems a bit suspect
