Do not buy refurbished!! I bought two in December 2020. Both died about one month outside the one year warranty. I was so confident buying refurbished due to the dyson name. I went through weeks of back snd forth with customer service only to be told to replace the battery. Even after doing that the vacuums did not run more than five minutes. Dyson basically said they would give me 20% off item in their store. I bought the animal v7 though.
They told me to pound sand a couple months after warranty expired for a prior V10 purchase from Walmart.
Good thing is 3rd party batteries are not that expensive. And 3rd party fluffy head attachments can also be obtained for about $35-40 as opposed to the $95+ OEM.
Which 3rd party battery is good and can be trusted? I need one to replace the battery on my V8. TIA

To the counterpoint, I bought two refurbished units for myself and encouraged two family members to buy at the same time back in 2016-17 and all four are still working perfectly fine.

4 Dyson refurbs in currently. A cordless and a stand-up for each level of the house. One is a V5 (before the cordless even had a HEPA filter). All four are still trucking along. Clean the filters, do the maintenance. Refurb is the way to go.
It seems the V7 fluffy head will fit a V10/V11, however, since the suction on those models are more powerful, the V7 motor heads doesn't work as efficient when attached to a higher versions.
I own a V7 model and it does a great job on carpets, tile, and wood floor around the house. IMO, it lacks when trying to clean the car as the debris tend to stick in the fiber of the mat. I think the V10/V11 model will be more suited for deep cleaning mats that hold the debris.
Regarding this deal, $250 for a V7 with fluffy head is reasonable. V7 goes on sale for $200 without the fluffy head (mainly used for wood flooring/flat surfaces...I use mine on carpets with no issue). The fluffy head alone retails for $130.
Soft Roller Cleaner Head seems to be the same thing as Fluffy head.

Isn't the "Soft Roller Cleaner Head" the fluffy head folks keep suggesting?
