I have both. The aluminum one is slightly more premium... But that shouldnt discount this version as they are both excellent.
Overpriced for a junk knife? Yes... but for premium materials and what you're getting this is still a steal.
oh... and the aluminum version has M390.. which is pretty similar in quality to 20cv. the scales are the only real difference. either one is much better than the scales on the standard bug out.
Now the cue on the questions asking why people should buy this instead of a $5 gas station knife...
Great little knife but way to over price for what it is in my opinion. I was able to get the M4 with aluminum scales for 149.99 from them few months back.

These are priced ridiculously high, but they are excellent quality. Sure you can get a knockoff from China for $20, but they are nowhere near the same. Don't skimp on quality for something that could take your finger off.

Worth noting that BladeHQ just kicked off their anniversary sale and you can pick up some free swag and a SOG knife free with purchases over $150 . https://www.bladehq.com/cat--2022...Sale--4298
For the same price I would rather get the TwoSun TS177 with M390 blade steel and Titanium frame lock scales for $149.99 but it's not made in the US and slight bigger. It's also a personal preference.
There is no need to get any direct knock off on a bug out. There's plenty of made in China knife with better QC and blade steel. It's not like 15 years ago with cheap Chinese knives.
How are you even comparing the two knives? There is zero comparison here to be made since they're even the same in anyway.

Because if you value your EDC knife then a gas station knife won't even be in your line up. Poor steel that doesn't even retain an edge for any considerable amount of time. And most like not on quality bearings if on bearings at all.

I totally agree. Bought a knock off spyderco PM3 and I hate it and it scares it when I try to open and close it. I never carry it. Just wanted to see how the knock off feels in the hand.

Correct the aluminum (Bk-4) is m390. Plus, I think it was on sale for $170, not $150

Good point. Just checked though and you still need another penny to hit 150
