It says digital, so I'm assuming not, but if you plan to get this and they let you do it in store; Be a friend and help the store reps out to fill they qouta to sell these things. The expectations they set for employees to get can be absurd. Getting fired absurd.

Fyi, monthly coupons can be used twice if you write down the code. First use it in store then you can still use it online after.

You can use it online, but your total has to be more than $5. Some people have used the option to donate $1 to charity to bring total to $6. In store I believe the total can be exactly $5.
I can confirm everything said here. At least the last time I tried it that was the case. At $0 it was just spinning. Adding the $1 charity let it go through. Seems like a decent tradeoff for those who don't want to go into the store.

If you do go into the store, you can definitely grab a $5 e-gift card and exchange no money.

My auto renewal has been off since january and I have been getting my monthly certificates with no issue
I have as well. The only thing you lose if you turn off auto-renewal is the 20 points per $1. It goes down to 10 points per $1 on the account, so every purchase takes longer. Instead of 20% going back to your Rewards account, it is 10% basically.

I don't think it's worth the trouble or effort even.

Gamestop is a poorly managed company at the retail and online level (visiting them and observing their practices for 15+ years). I have very little trust in their promoted programs or products due to my experience in dealing with management and online support for issues with in store and online orders or redemption of points using PowerUp. Nothing terribly extreme so I'm not railing against them, it's just a constant drip of negative experiences usually regarding PowerUp and a lot of gotchas seem to be cooked in.

A good example being they changed the "$5 monthly redemption towards anything except Apple, Visa cards etc" that was promised to me in store upon signing up to now $5 towards an in-store physical product only or $10 GCs online, which I think will likely disappear moving forward too. The manager who sold me the program blamed me for not reading the contract language of "they have the right to change the program at will" as an excuse for 3 months after signing up, despite the only and primary benefit he pushed hard to me was this $5 free XBLive credit monthly that's now gone.

They often oversell and underdeliver on most things they push in my 15 years occasionally visiting them, and every console/game trade-in experience I've had has been disappointing as well, with one store saying one thing vs another saying another thing etc. It's just inconsistency across the board on many things making it often not worth the hassle. Sadly, I don't anticipate them thriving in the future unless their biz model changes significantly, like with the proposed in store experiences or something else.

Thanks for attending my "I generally don't trust Gamestop, not worth the hassle for $2-5 savings TED Talk"!!

If you're on the fence, I can tell you this is the single best gaming purchase I made last year. For the $15 I paid, I've gotten literally $50 and I still have a few months left. I mean, if we could invest and get that, I'd retire tomorrow.

Are GS' items usually overpriced and they seem to love selling used games as new? Yup. But this si a hook to bring people in the store that anyone with 2 or more functioning brain cells can easily use to a massive advantage.
But are you forced to spend extra money to use the amount they give you?

Do they sell anything useful to a pc gamer that wouldn't be cheaper or easier to get on Amazon or directly through steam?

I signed up in December because I was able to trade my xb1x for a series s and have $20 trade in credit left over. I've used my credit to get a $5 Xbox card every month since except one when I used it towards something I actually wanted. I agree it probably won't be hassle free everytime you go in the store, but I'd say it's been worth it to me.

New term of service sent out this morning. Not sure if it will effect how the monthly $5 can be used. See attached pic.

Be careful buying Xbox GCs from Gamestop. They sent me and several SD members used codes.

I contacted MS and they were able to reimburse me, but the rep said it has been happening often and they are starting investigation into Gamestop
