Bought this last time, it also comes with a bonus bonnet set, so more value than just the tool itself. Sold out pretty fast last time around, mine was backordered and finally shipped this time around. Good deal.

Serious question, why would you use this over a 10in buffer? Smaller spaces?

The 10" buffer is only $5 more. Granted no bonus set

Smaller spaces. The 10" is really awkward to get into some places on the car.

Is this dual action? So it spins and also pivots off axis a bit to prevent perfect circle swirls? Don't see a mention of it in the product description.

Is the bonus bonnet set needed if I just want to polish my car?

I was looking at these a while back, pretty sure this one is d/a, the 10" is orbital. That's going from memory... But makes me want to have both!

Another serious question. Does the orbital action work well enough for cars? Or is the dual action that much more beneficial.

Not related to these tool specifically, but in general, an orbital is a much better tool, typically... And has much further reaching abilities in what it can do. HOWEVER, the tradeoff is that with power, comes responsibility! An orbital could much more easily destroy paint if operated incorrectly (i.e. burn the clear/paint, etch in hard swirls, etc). To me, a variable rpm with variable trigger control is the single best tool. BUT for me, I have that in a DeWalt, and I wanted both the 10 and 6" Ryobi models to add to the kit for different wants/needs here and there. I think I could detail my vehicles more efficiently and effectively having all of them!
