This was such a good game! First time beating a Zelda game. Played this after discovering the metroidvania genre through Hollow Knight, Ori, Yoku's Island, and others. I was surprised how much Link's Awakening reminded me of those games. The puzzle solving, finding upgrades to unlock areas and needing to backtrack, the invisible hand mechanic. This is a great pickup if you enjoy that type of game. The graphics provide modern polish to a classic title full of charming and quirky characters.
GameStop had this for $16~ last year. If you're patient, they may lower the price again
Why does it slow down so much? A gameboy remake dragging a current gen console should not happen. Poor design decisions?

If I've beat the original long ago, would I enjoy this?

You might like a link to the past, oracle of ages, oracle of seasons, and minish cap too if you like this style of Zelda

This is not a good price. 15$ for this game is pushing it. You'll be done in one sitting and it has performance issues. Imagine a top down Zelda game with fps drops! IMAGINE THAT IN 2022!

I spent many weeks with the original GB release back in the day, it was my favorite GB game. Playing the NS release was honestly amazing- it's like how you imagined the tiny black & white game back in the day, come to fruition on screen.

My only complaint was the frequent slow down. It honestly just sticks out too much on an otherwise beautiful/smooth game.

Me, too! I kept trying OG NES Zelda between NES Classic and eshops. This was the first game I really "played". I did technically beat BOTW first (like within the last year), but was about a dungeon + last boss from the end.

Wonderful game! So very cute, too. The graphics were why I decided to give it a try.

I hate physical copies of games. Why don't digital ever go on sale?

Loved it. I bought it at release and it was exactly as I remember the Gameboy version but with much nicer graphics. If you like link to the past, you will probably enjoy this. Some people don't like the "clay" look but it didn't bother me.
