I disliked this game not because of any politics, but because a) there were elements of violence that were over-the-top and unnecessary, and b) the writers managed to make both the opposing main characters revolting to the point where I didn't care who won or who died, just that the game would end. Overpriced by $14.

It's very hard to explain why it's so polarizing without spoiling anything. I get what they were trying to do and show both sides of a story, but for many people, including myself, it's not what we wanted. We knew the people we were rooting for weren't stand up citizens, but we knew why they did it. I got about halfway through the story and sold my PlayStation because of this game. This is after playing through the first one about 3 times.

I did not want or need this game to exist, but it absolutely did exactly what it set out to, invoke emotion and turmoil.

The only people that like this crappy game are because the reviews told them to. It's basically for people who have bad taste in gaming.

The Critical Drinker on YouTube probably has the best analysis of all. This game is a technical marvel, no doubt about it. But it also deserves legit criticism, and (much to the chagrin of the PC police), much of that criticism has nothing to do with the lead characters being female, gay, trans, or LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ.
