I have the similar model with the aluminum tank for about 1 year now, and absolutely love it. Total gamechanger with the lower DBs compared to my previous 6 gallon pancake compressor. I no longer dread turning on my compressor. It gets used more often and I can use it in my closed garage without waking the family.
I did extensive research before purchasing and strongly preferred the aluminum version over steel, but there are pros/cons for both options. So do your research.
Quality issues exist. The drain plug on mine was poorly welded and leaked badly. I reached out to the vendor and asked if I fixed it myself if they would further discount it. They agreed to discount it 10%, and five minutes of welding later I had a perfectly functional air compressor for a great price. Had it been something in the mechanics of the unit, the result may have been different. My only other complaint is that the nuts on the wheels tend to vibrate loose every now and then. A little blue loctite or a nylon locknut would address this easily, but I just haven't been that motivated yet.

I have a small 3 gal unit from them, which is fine for tires or a nail gun, and buying this to run a spray gun
Thinking of buying this to replace a loud HF 10 gallon unit. Any thoughts/reviews from SD owners would be much appreciated!
Also, is it possible with this unit to fill the tank, unplug it, and use the air within as I see fit? Will it hold the air within the tank without pressurized air diminishing on its own without use over time? My HF compressor goes to zero without my use over a couple days.

Yes, this is specifically what I'll use it for

Four seasons later, and my machine has paid for itself twice. Keep this in mind if youre looking for a definite "pay-back" calculation for buying the machine.
