It's aluminum, think you want stainless so it won't rust/oxidize as bad

Note: this isn't dishwasher safe (many of the reputable alternatives are)
we almost never wash ours.

Why?

When pounding pork or chicken flat, we cover the meat with plastic wrap.
It keeps mallet clean, but more importantly, it prevents meat bits/juices from splashing all over the counter.

plastic wrap down on marble counter, meat, fold plastic back over... whack away.

Usually use just the flat side... the pointy side will cause holes eventually, defeating the plastic wrap. Can hit a few times with points, just not a lot.

Wouldn't you possibly piece the Saran Wrap though? I mean like holes in a condom you really don't want to mess around with any microscopic holes from Saran Wrap from raw chicken on something that doesn't get washed. Sounds like a disease waiting to happen

nope. never bring a cheap and light meat hammer to a gun/knife fight. most of the attacks reported in the news are from thugs stab victims from their back in the subway and the elderly are easy targets. never play with your phone out in public. never carry much cash. credit card fraud charges can be reversed. i no longer carry my wallet. only 1 credit card and a $5 bill. always try and walk where you have a wide angle view and where there's plenty of people. back in the day, that doofus clown mayor Dumblasio released the most violent offenders and killers back on the streets during the height of the pandemic. most of these criminals not only re-offended once, but multiple times since their release because of the liberals no bail laws. dont be a victim. always carry protection. its you or them. nobody will step in and help. these yuppies and hipster fake new yorkers would rather pull out their phones to record you getting attacked so they can get likes instead of helping.
