Just got an open box 3070ti for $620 from MC yesterday. Now this. Pretty sweet pricing for my new build components.

I don't know why most people would buy this instead of the i7 11700 kf or whatever it is. Who isn't going to buy a gpu with this?

Its 180 here.

Also to the people saying spend 100 more. Thats if you can get the 12700k for 299. Also, considering the boards are newer and the ddr5 is newer, they are more expensive so it isn't any where close to $100 more. The 12700k also takes 190 watts instead of 125 so a more expensive power supply may be needed. From what i see, it is like a 15% to 20% increase in benchmarks from the 11700k to the 12700k. I could be wrong on that.
kf has no integrated gpu, 11700 is limited to ddr4 and will be obsolete far sooner than the 12700. performance, well per cpumark there's over 40% better performance from the 12700k vs either of the 11700 cpus.

ddr5 prices are dropping fast, and has put ddr4 in the coffin along with LGA1200 cpus.

this is great for a budget build, but if you're after performance and using your system for more than a couple years spend the extra $100 on the 12700k

Looks to me like the 11700K pawns the 11700KF: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Com...4594vs4107

Am I missing something?

EDIT: Whoops sorry, they are pretty much equivalent in their performance specs so I would agree with you. The big difference is the K has an integrated GPU while the KF does not. Is $20 worth it? Maybe for testing your MB without a GPU or if your GPU craps out you can still use your PC.

Insane deal for an i7. Last year I found a 10700k/MB combo on newegg for $475 which made the 10700k cost $275 and I thought that was a good deal. Wish I had a microcenter.

Not only much better but has the capability of using either ddr4 or ddr5 runs hot yes but you can manage that with a good cooler.

Yes: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Com...4119vs4107

However ATM is almost double the price of the i7-11700K ($384).

I got it at 300 last week. I'm sure you saw that deal. If you are patient and keep checking you can get it for around that price. I've seen that deal couple of times already.

Not great for a new build. The i5-12400 beats the chip in most benchmarks.

Might be worth it for say a i5-10400 on a Z490 or 500 series board who wants PCIe 4 or maybe one of those ASUS bare ones w/GPUs.

Good point and thanks for posting.

After researching I decided to go with an Intel i5-12400 CPU with a Gigabyte Z690 Gaming X DDR4 motherboard. Actually came out $30 cheaper.
