i can't speak for that guy but i'm in a similar situation where i have a Peloton but don't want to pay for the membership. the problem is, the bike is worth more to someone who wants to use the membership and can probably be resold for close to $1000. meanwhile this bike is half that price. is it worth selling the Peloton to get something like this or just stick with the Peloton and use the "just ride" feature?
I'm in the exact same boat. Do I sell my Peloton, then downgrade to Peloton app only. Save $30 a month, and with the money selling the Peloton I can buy a new iPad to use with this? I don't use the Peloton enough to warrant the extras that come with a full membership and bike.

Anddd I bought one. Does anyone use this with an Amazon Kindle? That's the only tablet I have and it's the slowest thing in the universe lol

Or the latest 10" Fire Tablet, think it's 11th generation.

I've had this bike paired with the Peloton digital subscription on my iPad ($12/month) for the last two years and between my wife and I we have logged close to 400 rides on it in that time. It has been awesome for us and we have been very pleased with the quality. She really wanted a Peloton after a couple of her friends bought them but I just couldn't justify the price and higher monthly membership. We paid $799 for this one and it's a steal at this price for anyone that will use it.

The only things we added were a $30 bike mat from Amazon and some anti-abrasion tape to the seat post. We noticed a pretty bad squeaking when my (much shorter) wife would ride and through the Facebook user group figured out it was due to the post making contact inside the column. I'm right at 6' tall and never had it happen but she drops the bike down to it's second or third lowest setting and it was rather annoying. The tape was less than $5 and got rid of the noise completely.

Great price for this. I paid full price when it was difficult to get any exercise bike at all.

Does anyone who has this find their speed to be off on the built in screen? I barely touch the pedals and I'm at like 18 mph. Is there a way to adjust that?

TIA
We also got ours during the height of the pandemic and paid full price... This is a fantastic deal. Regarding the speed... My wife rides this and she has not mentioned this. I had to turn the seat mounting around so the seat was closer to the handlebars for her, but otherwise, no issues. We had to download the owners manual from the web to get more information on the controller...

My only... 'I wish it did..." would be to have the pedaling load be able to be set over blue tooth so an app could adjust the load while riding.

Definately, I found the stock pedals to be difficult to clip into and rather clunky so I did replace them with a pair from an old road bike.
Yeah not in love with the pedals.

Is it better to get an elliptical or a bike like this? I'm thinking of getting this because I think the size will be a bit smaller than elliptical and I can put in a bedroom instead of a basement.

This is an amazing deal. I have the C6 from Bowflex. (Same manufacturing different name brand.) paid $500 for used bike. Rides great. I use YouTube classes instead of paying for an app. Can't beat it as an cheaper alternative to peleton.
Can you please share link to the classes you use here? I'd love to do the same instead of the paid subscription. Thank you!

Yeah, I know it's a fluke with my unit. I searched a lot and couldn't find anyone else with that issue or a way to fix it. I didn't reach out to Schwinn, partly because of laziness and partly because it doesn't bother me a ton even though it's annoying. I honestly don't use any apps and just measure myself by timing, but it would be nice to have accuracy on the speed and distance.

My wife has this bike and loves it. I prefer an elliptical so my arms get exercise when using. One thing I wish this bike did would be able to control the load via Blue Tooth so an app could change the load. (eg if the app has you riding up hill, it would make it more difficult to pedal.)

That's such a crazy business model. That's 50% more than a membership to my local Gold's. I just want a decent bike good for tall folks that I can listen to podcasts on or watch a movie on my ipad.
If you're a "peloton subscriber" - as in someone who doesn't have a bike and has a peloton subscription independently - the price is only $13 bucks a month.

You lose some features like scenic rides, some metrics and the leaderboard so if you care about those things then you may feel FOMO. You do still get cadence and HR for metrics though and those are enough for me to get a good workout in the morning.

I've always wanted a solid exercise bike, and this seems like one. I'm also sitting on lots of rewards from my BB credit card. Now that they're dumping Elite Plus, I'll be spending less there. This was a great use of my rewards. I look forward to picking it up this weekend. Thanks OP!
