There was no code. It was a rolling ad on my app home page. I clicked on it & it took me to a list of SF Bay products. Many if which had this coupon.

Because I've been watching for what I figured would be the "rest" of the sale I said ymmv. I also said "my" price because discount was all over the place.
I edited the post, multiple times, because my crappy Xfinity internet had been cutting out in the wind. And..
Oh. Wait. Did you think that had anything to do with you...?

Don't feel bad, Amazon's MO has been to play switcharoo for a while now.
At this point SD should just edit every deal to read ymmv.

Think of it this way, as with everything in life it's a transition, a process....those who were used to something for a long time vs those who are new/newish to what is...such is/are all things in life.
Thus to you, it's all ymmv, which it has become, over the past 8 months or so, to the rest of us it was not the typical.

When it's the norm it's called corporate culture. It's also called things like false advertising & bait & switch. Since that's illegal it is a federal case.
It's not about miscommunication when signage says one thing & consistently consumers are charged differently. And since there are many items which can't be returned, they have no recourse.
Also merchants like these make deals with stocking store front websites to create sale prices. If the storefront advertises the sale & sells discounted product at full price they make extra profit at everyone elses expense
If the consumer pays attention & avoids said scam purchase then merchant potentially stands to lose discounted wholesale cost as well as rep.
Worst case customers & sales go to competitor. But still on same storefront who therefore has nothing to lose & everything to gain when they are allowed to get away with bad behavior.
Still sound like harmless fun?
I.E. Aalso Apple, Microsoft etc...

I noticed that when we both would have the same item in our checkout cart YET the total price would be less for one of us and higher for the other...they finagle their order of arrangement of discount and s&s to achieve this!

Like I said, people's discounted prices were all over the place!!!!
So if we could get back to this particular snafu?
If you sign into Amazon & launch from this deal OR even get there any other way, can you see a -40% coupon?
Mine is still there. But I only have the one acct & have no way to know if its still attached from yesterday.

There's no sense in beating ourselves up over it because this is the way it is nowadays. And you are correct, once you use a coupon you no longer can see it on your own acct.
(unless the coupon is a multi-use, which is also rare anymore) to see if the deal is still viable for others.
