Thank you OP! is this finally a good deal? looking to get this @ MSRP or should I stick with a cheaper option for now and wait until the 40 series comes out? I know it's no magic 8 ball but is this a better buy (at MSRP $1200) or say an after market 3070 ti at $100 over msrp which is $699?

The 3080 12GB is about $200 cheaper. From performance tests that I've seen made, they seem to perform about the same. What would be a benefit to going with this Ti?

that 3080 should be about $850-900 in normal times I believe so that's still a little over msrp and this 'deal' is at msrp. Thats the only differences I can see, that and this is a baseline FE card.
edit: based on reviews these two cards perform much closet than the $200 price gap. I'm going to pass on it now.

My local store has one; I could have gotten one, but I let it go. I genuinely don't need/want one now as I'm pretty happy with the 3070 I got a year ago and I now have a steam deck to play with. (two actually, I bought one for a gift but the giftee got tired of thinking he'd never have one and got a switch OLED).

I think its a good deal since its MSRP or close to it. If you can wait for the 40 series then that is up to you but I think they will require at least a 1000 PSU.
I hear the 3000 series prices are coming down because of lack of demand. So I would really wait for below MSRP prices now. Glad that the bloated prices era for consoles and gpus is finally behind us.
