I assume by your comment that there is a way to leave the cameras connected 24/7? I have been thinking about buying some nest cams but I want a wired one since I don't plan on charging them every so often.
The charging cable that comes with it is only 3ft long. Basically it is there so you can charge them if you use them as battery only operation. You can purchase longer cables (15ft or 30ft) if you want to use them in a wired 24/7 scenario. I am using them as wired. With Nest aware, you cannot get 24/7 video history without it being wired.

TLDR - If you are getting into these and want or already have a nest aware or nest aware plus subscription, buy the additional longer cables for keeping them wired otherwise you are wasting your money.

TLDR version 2 - If you get these cameras without a Nest aware or nest aware plus subscription, know that it will only keep events on a ROLLING 3hr basis and not store 3hrs of events total. Basically if something happens in the middle of the night and you are asleep and don't see the notification/event.... by the time you wake up you won't be able to see what happened.

So the home app does have nest features, but not for older cameras that have those features in the nest app. Holy shit, this is worse than I thought.

Yeah, I can confirm that with the doorbell cam v1 in the Home app you can ONLY:
1 See a Live view
2 Speak thru cam
3 Turn on/off quiet time
4 Give a quick response
5 Emergency
6 Turn camera on/off

Everything else is done in the Nest app

I've been slowly migrating over to Wyze. Better prices, everything is in 1 app and for the price, I've had opportunity to add other items I wouldn't have (motion lights, locks, etc.)

This has been in the news recently. Wyze Cam devices had a huge security flaw for years. The vulnerability allowed hackers to gain unauthorized access to Wyze's home security cameras.Mar 31, 2022EEK!

I have a bunch of google stuff, already use the home app, but reading the comments it doesn't seem worth it. I don't want to pay a subscription fee for Ring. Seriously considering either the Eufy, which I have one of their cams already and seems to work quite well. Or the Blink. Anyone have any experience with these, thoughts? Would the Nest be better? That Eufy's HDR support is terrible (if it even exists)! In the review posted on Amazon (which I assume is biased), most of the video is completely washed out in the background! I have an old wired nest doorbell that has great HDR. I'm looking for something comparable, but considering other ecosystems. Wanted to try Eufy, but not after that. :-(

The battery life on these suck. Even if you hard wire into your house. Avoid unless you don't mind charging the battery every couple weeks. It takes about 10 hours to gather a full charge.

I returned mine and went back to the fully wired version.
Where did you find the fully wired version?
