I bought into the hype, purchased a chair without trying all the models out extensively at an office chair vendor
Sold my Aeron after two months - one of the most overrated chairs ever
Went to a vendor this time and sat in every Herman Miller and Steelcase model on available, ordered a fully loaded Steelcase Gesture on the spot
Steelcase Gesture takes a hot dump on anything made by Herman Miller, period
Now I have two Gestures one with and without headrest
Dont waste your money especially on the lower end Embody/Sayl models - absolute trash for what they are charging
Embody is no a lower end chair.

No idea how old those chairs were, but they do need to have some parts replaced eventually. My company didn't send the ones I swapped around in to be fixed so I can give you an idea that eventually the piston and plastic lumbar support do eventually stop working. But the chairs could have been 20+ years old at that point. You can replace those parts yourself of course.
Now that being said... I spent around $300 for a Workpro quantum (9000? Maybe 12000?) from Office Depot like two years ago and that worked way better for me. It has 12 years warranty beating out the 10 year for the Aeron. Also has seat tilting and sliding forward/backward adjustment. The seat cushion isn't mesh like the Aeron so eventually that will need to be replaced. I was worried that it would also cause me to have swamp ass in the summer, but turns out it is fine for home for Michigan summers and I usually am on the conservative side for the thermostat. You can tell that the quality in this chair also solid. The wheel base isn't some cheap plastic like some of the entry level chairs in the $100 range. It has some serious heft to it being metal.
People say that those Staples/Office Depot $100-$120 are not comparable to the Aeron and I would agree. But the Aeron isn't worth $800 more than those entry level ones. The Workpro one I got is rated for 8-12 hours of sitting per day, same as the Aeron and is cheaper with a longer warranty and on sale, you can get two or three of them for one Aeron.
Also, in B4 somebody throws out the "you can find it used for like $200" or "you can find it cheap or free easily from a company that's moving or shutting down that is trying to offload it". That's highly YMMV by area and not reproducible in the slightest for the majority of us. I've checked. Even my closest office supplier that sells the Aeron refurbished is still $300+ and you don't get the same warranty as the original.
But back to the topic: gaming chairs are always dubious to me and I don't recommend them. Herman Miller makes solid chairs so maybe this will be the exception. But again, for the money, I think the are better alternatives to the old Aeron.

I'm not being sarcastic, I'm seriously asking. I've never heard of emailing companies like this.

Matter of fact, we didn't know it was made 17 years ago because of the amazing condition it was in until I bent down to look for the manufacture date out of curiosity.
We sold it to another friend last year and it's still kicking so it's 18 years and counting.
But please keep in mind that chairs are like cars, it's subjective and won't work for everyone. So be reasonable in your expectations and understand that just because you spend a lot of on a chair doesn't mean it's the perfect one for you.
I tried both the Aeron and Embody and found that the Embody is too soft for my back so it actually hurts even though the embody is more expensive than the Aeron.
I eventually bought a silver Aeron remastered from a dealer for $1100.
Double check HM return policy and make sure you can return the chair(s) if you order them to try. I ordered both the Aeron and Embody directly from HM and returned them both to buy the Aeron from a dealer bevause it was a few hundreds cheaper.
