Just email your local hm dealer and you'll get a better price. The list is on their website. I got an embody for $1000 delivered last year

19.25% but ok.
Percentages off are not additive unless they somehow combine up front.

I paid $825 for origina Aeron and $1000 for remastered a few year ago. I don't regret both purchases

but do you regret either of them, individually?

Damn, the retail markup for these is intense...like 100% in the case of the Sayl. I don't know if it's an option for anyone, but if you've got an employer with some kind of contract agreement, maybe you could work a deal through them? Fed gov system for ordering a Sayl is between $385 and $436 for example while the Aeron is from $695 to $900. Embody is from $825.

They are admittedly, non gaming edition, but the difference is truly negligible. It's basically just colors for the Sayl and Aeron. The Embody claims some other tricks, but the gimmicky cooling layer and foam are unnecessary upcharges on the Embody. Just get the Balance fabric vs. Rhythm, if possible.

I love how these threads are always littered with people telling you to find one cheap locally (which isn't an option for a lot of people), or how cheap they got one. Usually not real helpful either way.

These are amazing! Look at Craigslist/fb marketplace. Since many offices (at least in my area, Metro Detroit) have gone remote, i picked up a near perfect condition fully loaded aeron chair for $350 a few months ago.
Same here. Usually good deals to be had on CL.

I understand your point, but I think the intent is to say make sure to check locally at least for those who do have the option. Including CL. Sometimes u can get these for half price which may be worth the wait for some people.

That's when you ask them how much fart residue they think they may have absorbed from the previous owner. I can only imagine how toxic a craigslist seller's fart matter can be.

Someone is liquidating their office equipment near me in FB marketplace and is selling Aeron's for $50 a piece. Decisions…

Aeron cannot be beat. They a built like tanks and super comfortable.

Don't buy them new, though. You can get them second-hand on Craigslist for a fraction of the cost when businesses close. I just checked and found them as low as $400 in my area. I think I picked mine up for even less ~12 years ago, and it still looks and feels great.

My only issue with the aeron is that my ass gets cold during winter months. I wish they made a nice fitting cushion or something.

"Sold my Arron after two months", is how I have determined that I can't take your statement serious. Basic chairs break after 1-2 years, which is how long it generally takes to realize the benefits of buying a high end chair. Sure, you can spend $100 for 10 years and get garbage, or you can spend $1000 and have it last you at least 10 years. I'm sick of rewarding cheap manufacturers. If I didn't already have a great chair I'd buy this just to spite your post. Sure, spend 1/10th of your money now and spread around the misery for 10 years, or just buy quality now.
I wouldn't full discount his statement. Some chairs are just uncomfortable for other people. I sat in an aeron for the longest time (in my professional office and had 1 at home). I swapped over to embody's because i like to recline in my chair, which that chair is made for. I also have a gesture with headrest. They all have their pros and cons and depending on your body type, you'll find comfort different. At this point, I like my gesture as much as my embody and I really don't like that aeron anymore. I had all 3 versions of the aerons too.

I've also owned leap, think, freedom, etc. over the last decade and i personally like the embody and gesture the most.... but that's just my preference. My wife, who is an itty bitty woman, prefers the aeron and embody but hates the gesture.

At the end of the day, it comes down to understanding what your body is like and what you want out of a chair. But buying a "nice" chair is worth it because they last and buying from an authorized dealer, you get the warranty. The embody that i replaced the gesture with was from an unauthorized dealer and my cats wrecked the fabric on the embody. If i was within warranty, it would've been significantly cheaper to replace vs getting HM to replace the fabric. They quoted me 600 for a reupholstery since it wasn't authorized. My friend got his fabric replaced for free after 4-5 years (balance fabric) and it eventually developed holes from just daily use.

If you have discomfort in a chair for 2 months straight, I can understand wanting to swap off and not wanting to give it any more time. The aeron mesh is pretty firm and if he got the wrong size for himself, it could further lead to discomfort; so I wouldn't fully discount him. He went to a gesture so it's not like he discounted the need for a nice chair either.

Is it worth the price? $1000 seems steep but if the comfort is their, I can buy it for my business.
HM is the best in the chair business hands down. I have 3, they are built to last a lifetime.
