Probably can get away with dropping asap, no? I'm a few weeks out from the weed and feed myself (did pre emergent like 2-3 weeks ago)…

Maybe for some kinds of weeds. We are already seeing a lot of weeds of many types around here.

Slickdeals does a number of shady practices(like making up Costco original prices) but this only hit my hot deals page, can't people post directly to there?

Not a good price unless you believe Scotts is somehow actually worth the original $20 price or don't have other options. But right now Menards has their brand crabgrass preventer on sale. Normally $15.95, on sale for $12.99 through today (has been on sale for a while) and then you can take the 11% off to get you down to $11.56.

Would kind of depend - they tell you to target soil temps of low 50's for dropping pre-em, and in some parts of the northeast we're barely getting into that territory.

Lots of areas that are still in the optimal (green) range.

So both of you guys are probably right that it is too late but I was just thinking— isn't that like saying you shouldn't use birth control because there were a few thousand births last week. In my lawn at least new "baby" crab grass is emerging every day. So is it a waste of time to hold the line against the pre-emergent crab grass while fighting the existing population.

No Menards near me otherwise I would give it a try. But the Scott's stuff works really well for me, so I bought one for next season
