Does it kill existing crabgrass? Or just to prevent?

Can I hoard these up for next Spring? Will they deteriorate over time?

Time for this IS early Spring, (and late Fall). Definitely not now in the summer heat tho. Since fertilizer is largely minerals it is stable for a long time, when kept dry. I scored Scott's SummerGuard for THREE DOLLARS a 15,000 sq ft bag at Lowes and it's two years old. Will do my final bag next summer
