Not your mom's All-Clad. This is only assembled in the U.S.A. All-Clad has removed assurances that the steel is locally sourced.
I have used portable induction as a primary burner for nearly 20 years. Even the original U.S.A. made D3 was a big fail on this type of induction which causes the center to super-heat nearly instantly while nothing cooks elsewhere. D3 fry pan also warps badly on PIC. Customer service gave two replacements admitting the problem while advising me to buy D5 or preferably D7. D5 fry pan won't warp but the hot bullseye is still there. D7 fry pan is spectacular in finish and performance but it is discontinued.
Atlantis Proline 24 cm ( 9.4" ) fry pan yields more cooking space than this A-C 10" and is the perfect match for your PIC portable induction. Nothing else browns or sautes as evenly without burning or sticking and if you use a c.i. lid then you can shallow braise. If not for the difference between usable and not usable on a PIC then I would not mention Proline due to cost. For half the price Demeyere has its Industry 5 ply line. An All-Clad Copper Core from the scratch and dent sale would be my third choice for PIC. Otherwise use any strongly magnetic pot and stick with boiling liquids.
Macy's description is wrong.
Would you not recommend this pan then?
Macy's description is wrong.
What do you think bonded means? Multi layer stainless steel pans (d3, d5 etc.)are all made in usa. The nonstick stuff amd some single layer lids are made elsewhere.
