99% of accessories that work with Gen 2 will work with 3 considering they are exactly the same dimensions/camera cutout, etc.

The difference is the speaker placement (the grills). They're slightly different. I don't know enough on whether this one would partially block one or not on a 3rd gen.

The major diff is the opening for the rear camera. 3rd gen has a square camera assembly while the older 2 gens have a slim oval shape. Title should be corrected.

Any reason to get this if you already own the Magic Keyboard? I sometimes find it to be a bit bulky. Maybe this can be a slim/portable alternative ?

I have this and definitely recommend it. With that being said , it is a bit bulky so if you're looking for something "slim" I would pass. Good protection though…

I received the item and it does NOT seem new! The original box is gone and it's just the case in a plastic bag. I would guess it is a returned unit and Amazon sold it as new. Hard to imagine Amazon would do this.
