What you should do is order it, and when it comes in, look at the ram stick installed. There will be a brand name, and a model number/part number for the RAM stick in there. Just Google that, and usually you can find someone on Ebay selling that exact same thing for very little money. That way you have a (somewhat) matched pair, but only have to buy one.

IMO:
Windows 10 is a plus at this time
SD and DVD drive are a plus
Here's a link to Acer for better info than eBay - https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/con....BH7AA.002
Yes, the 512GB storage is SSD of some kind, either SATA or NVMe.

Look at the product info page and it'll tell you. Crucial also has a memory tool on their site ou put in the model and It;ll tell you what's compatible.

Or you can look at the chipset's recommended ram.
Crucial memory tool doesn't work on this for some reason but this works. https://www.microcenter.com/produ...2A_-_Green

Does this come with space and wiring for an extra 3.5 inch hard drive?
Yes for space but you have to supply the wires unless you use the ones from the dvd player.

I assume the (2) HDMI ports are v1.4 - I need HDMI 2.0 so it'll drive a 4K monitor @60hz. HDMI 2.0 ports should be standard these days.
Lol, if it doesn't have a dedicated graphics card, why should it support 4k @60hz.

Will the HDMI v1.4 drive a 32" curved 2560 x 1440 monitor?

If not, is there any easy and cheap fix for that?
Hdmi 1.4 supports 2k at 75hz. And 4k at 24hz.

Got tired of waiting for a new basic desktop deal during this chip shortage. I normally am not too keen about refurbs but the 2 year warranty on this eases most of my concern.. Just bought one for mothers day

Could a smaller graphics card be installed?
Up to a GTX 1650 lp, which is the second most powerful low profile card. Zotac sells the GDDR5 version for $179 but I don't recommend it because it is loud. So is their GDDR6 one to. I have a GTX 1050ti and it's quite.

Don't see any solid answer on the NIC chipset (Intel or RTL or Broadcom). Looks like it could be a nice ProxMox or ESXI server and more if you add a half-height quad nic card and ram. It's just under 3U height and could fit on a rack shelf.

I need the computer ASAP for work. I went ahead and ordered 2 sticks of 8gb DDR4 ram 3200 off Amazon. Paid an additional $55.

So for $380 I get a relativeliy new i5, 16gb ddr4 RAM, and 512gb SSD. Can't beat that.

I have this and it's a screaming deal and Consumer Reports highest rated compact computer. No sd card reader though. The fan can get loud under load but the eBay one the guy mentions is a easy fix. https://www.microcenter.com/produ...2A_-_Green If you wanna drop another stick in and have it run dual channel. Up to a GTX 1650 lp fits but blocks the other PCI slot. Just don't get the Zotac one cause it makes a ridiculous loud whining noise. I have a 75Hz 2k monitor but the desktops hdmi ports would only push the monitor to 60Hz.

You only need 1 additional stick. https://www.microcenter.com/produ...2A_-_Green No need to waste your money getting 2 sticks.

Noob question How sure are you about the exact RAM?
I bought this off Amazon last night: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

Not 100% sure but it says I can return for any reason.

This thread: https://community.acer.com/en/dis...nt_1050932
says that you need PC4-23400 and the one I bought is clearly PC4 25600.

I'm giving it a 80% chance of working.

What's the expandability for storage on this inside? Room for 3.5 drive or 2.5? Thx
