Specs wise, no. The only advantage it has over them is it can actually run the desktop version of the Chrome browser, so if extensions are important to you or you get annoyed with the mobile version of websites, this is better. It can run linux too, but that's not important to the vast majority of buyers. At this price it's a solid purchase, just don't expect it to be as fast as either the iPad or Galaxy. If you can get a good deal for the those though, buy that instead.
In Android, there is a app called Kiwi, it is open source full Chrome that you can also use the Chrome Book Addon accessories such as ublock origin. So I don't see full Chrome a huge advantages.

Is this better than iPad Pro 11in or Samsung S8 11in ??
OK... so the answer is... it is better in some aspects and not others. And please note that in Android, there is a app called Kiwi, it is open source full Chrome that you can also use the Chrome Book Addon Store and install things like ublock origin. So I no longer look at a Chromebook and say, BUT it uses full Chrome and yours does not.

The biggest advantage over Apple and Android is that the Chrome OS is considered more secure. So if you are doing banks, emails, buying online, dealing with your investments... the safest OS is Chrome OS. There is something to be said about this. Chrome OS gets the most updates (practically monthly).
Second biggest Advantage over Android is the longevity of OS updates. Apple also has longevity.

About hardware, nobody can beat apple. (Even though I am completely anti apple). Apple makes the fastest and most efficient CPU/GPU. And I personally recommend iPads if you like the apple OS. The thing with apple, their iPads offer amazing value but every other product is a complete rip off IMHO. And many people get a ipad and seem to want apple products afterwards because they get comfortable with the apple OS and things tend to work more often with apple. The bad about apple is that they block certain websites and apps from you (due to the potential of downloading illegal apps/movies/books/etc..), for example no Kodi and you can not get access to the pirate bay's website.

I personally really like Chromebook Tablet's and Android. This Chromebook Tablet is a Tablet first. After having screens crack due to small falls, all my tablets have a "foam" case with a handle that acts as a stand and if I would get this I would put the keyboard in draw and never use it. I also tend not to use my pen but perhaps my kid one day will want to. I own a Lenovo Chromebook Tablet and a Samsung Tab 8+ and a Fire Tablet 2019 10.1" and 8.4" Huawei M3 and M5 and a 8" Lenovo Tab 4. I also owned a ipad mini once. The point of this paragraph is... if you need a keyboard buy a device that has a keyboard but if you want a tablet this is an option. I would not buy this product if you want a device with a keyboard, remember this is a tablet first.

Limitations and issues of a Chromebook: So I really like Chromebooks and highly recommend them.
1. Most Chromebooks (I would think this one as well) runs Android 9 at 32bit in the background. So it comes with the android playstore but can only install apps that run 32bit Android 9. So apps like Call of Duty (play store only supports 64bit OS) is no longer available, current edition does not run on 32 bit OS. Only AMD and Intel CPU based Chromebooks have Android 64bit OS running in the background.
2. There is a learning curve with Chrome OS. Just beware that you may need to go to youtube and ask your questions.
3. Only Chromebook Tablets can install Gboard (keyboad), and I recommend you do so.
4. Widevine Level 1 support is only through the Chrome App, so if you want to stream in HD you need to go to www.netflix [www.netflix] or www. [www.]hula or www. [www.]amazon, etc... Downloading the app is useful if you download a movie for a plan but it will not be in HD quality. Also, if you don't download the android app you save hard drive space.
5. Many apps may not work or may not be available on the play store. But most are.
6. It hard to sideload an app (must keep tablet in developer's mode)... most people will never do this but some people like myself have a bunch of .apk files that they may want to install, if this is your case I would go for a Android.

Advantages of Chrome:
1. OS security
2. OS longevity
3. Linux
4. Chrome Browser
5. Powerwash feature (if you find your tablet is running slow, you can do a powerwash... it reinstalls your OS and reinstalls your apps and if you use Chrome for everything... everything is already backed up on line so when it finally reinstalls everything your tablet should run faster and it is as if you never did a reboot. And powerwash is quit fast for what it is.
6. No bloatware ever on a chrome book.. THIS IS HUGE
7. USB C to Hub on every Chromebook. So you can add additional monitors and USB C or A ports, etc... addons (keyboards, monitors, mouse, etc... ) seem to work on a Chromebook.

If you are a gamer you may or may not want a Chromebook. While Call of Duty does not work, there are Linux work arounds that you can follow on youtube and have it installed. But if you are looking for a tablet and your needs are pretty simple, a chromebook may be the way to go. And if you are a techie, and don't mind to figure out how to get something to work by watching youtube videos, a Chromebook is also a good option. the biggest issue is people are already use to Android and Appple and don't want to go to the website for their needs... again, the learning curve for Chrome OS.

As a Chromebook 11" tablet with these specs.... to me it is a no brainer, THIS IS AN AMAZING DEAL. What I love the most is that the manufacturer is out of the picture and all you updates come directly from Google.

Is 64GB of Hard drive space enough, I would have to say yes and it also has a Micro SD card for your media.

I highly recommend this Chromebook tablet and based on value, I don't see anything that comes close to this Chromebook Tablet... just remember, this is a tablet first.

This is a low end chip with cheap storage. Emmc over UFS 2/3? They cut many corners on this

But the thing is that ARM can be pretty, but the processor choice wasn't a good one. While Lenovo released the Duet 5 with 7c Gen 2, HP sticked to the Gen 1, that has lower performance.

Also, Mediatek has released since the Kompanio 828 that is much better than the 7c while being similary priced, and the Kompanio 1380 will help a lot to close the gap while remaining cheap.

My dream is a Chromebook with a DImensity 9000-type of chip tho.
Nice Dream... lol.

Arm will never be able to compete with AMD or Intel but at the same time, Arm has the battery life.

The issue with this and the Duet 5 is one is 11" (I consider this the PERFECT tablet size) and the other is a 13.3" tablet which to me is to big for a tablet.

Based on price and specs, I would lean to the HP. Especially if this is $200!!!! WOW.

The use of their storage is a BIG disappointment... but again, these specs at 11"... if possible for $200 WOW.

Any way to put straight Android on it, over ChromeOS?
There may be a way but it would be very very complicated and most time where you put in Linage (most known third party android) it almost never works perfect.

Chromebook Tablets with ARM CPU (like this one) run Android 9 32 bit underneath the Chrome OS and comes with the android play store.

I would agree with the above statements, but it seems at $299 this might finally be worth a look. I think it was fair to be critical of performance at $599 launch price, but at $299 it is competing with some very low end devices.

I mean, the nice pen and keyboard case that are included could cost $299 alone for a surface or ipad, so in one sense the tablet is almost free.
At $299 I would still be on the fence. But for $199... this to me becomes a steal.

You need to sign up for the potential coupon. Hope it comes.

Forgot about Kiwi! Though last I heard you can't sign into your Google account, so bookmarks, history, logins, etc. need to be manually imported to Kiwi. That also means there is no sync between other devices, which might be an important QOL thing for some people Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
