Did anyone else think this was a deal for two chromebooks?

Glad to see they didn't abandon the X2 form factor. A little sad to see they've migrated to the Snapdragon CPU. The pricing is benefitted only by the fact that the closest apples to apples competitor, the previously mentioned Lenovo, has a bigger OLED screen for only $30 more at launch. That premium will likely diminish a bit over time and will make this X2 seem significantly over-priced, whereas a Intel Jasper Lake CPU might've put a hit to battery life but wouldn't positioned the X2 as a sort of mini-powerhouse and better-justified the pricing (creating a "do you want the sexy screen or the super-CPU?" apples to oranges problem).

As it stands now, both products are great, easy to recommend for various reasons, but a little pricey and will keep me shopping OLED Windows 10 laptops while I stand pat on my first-gen OLED Galaxy Chromebook.

Good luck!

I owned the prior iteration of the X2, and loved it lots. Beautiful screen, excellent stylus implementation, and great form factor.

Considering Chrome, it deserved more RAM, and the keyboard hinge mount was finicky. This version appears to have addressed both issues. If you like ChromeOS, this is a great price.

This is much more palatable than the $599 price tag previously announced. I am still deciding between this and the Lenovo 13" Chromebook tablet. Thanks for the post OP

I'm with you. Biggest concern is the CPU. For me, I personally prefer the 11" screen size here vs. the 13" on the Lenovo. But of course each have advantages, like you mentioned. For $400, I'm going to give this one a shot.

Best Buy is selling the brand new (released two weeks ago) HP Chromebook 11 x2 (model 11-da0023dx) for $400, a 33% discount from the MSRP of $600. Great deal for a Surface-clone running ChromeOS.

I suspect given the form factor the CPU won't disappoint generally, but I'd love to hear back in this thread once you've gotten the chance to run it through some paces. This is otherwise a very premium device that can generally justify the price on other features. I'd venture a guess that Edge on Linux isn't a great option for this device, but that even some of the worst Android apps will run happily on this tablet.

Good luck!

The x2 in the title is a little confusing, I thought they were giving 2 of the chromebooks for 399

Two things led me to buy this one over the Lenovo Duet 13: 16:9 Aspect ratio for the Lenovo vs 3:2 for the HP and the $430 starting price of the Duet 5 will be a 4gb model, which is unusable with the SD7c.

Is this a better deal?
It's just for online school, and to play roblox, watch youtube.

Honestly if it's for primarily school use where you'll need to use windows applications you're better off with the windows laptop. However if school use is mostly web centric then go with the Chromebook.

It's all online besides some things on skype. No excel or of those programs. 4th grade child.
