Did anyone else think this was a deal for two chromebooks?

Glad to see they didn't abandon the X2 form factor. A little sad to see they've migrated to the Snapdragon CPU. The pricing is benefitted only by the fact that the closest apples to apples competitor, the previously mentioned Lenovo, has a bigger OLED screen for only $30 more at launch. That premium will likely diminish a bit over time and will make this X2 seem significantly over-priced, whereas a Intel Jasper Lake CPU might've put a hit to battery life but wouldn't positioned the X2 as a sort of mini-powerhouse and better-justified the pricing (creating a "do you want the sexy screen or the super-CPU?" apples to oranges problem).

As it stands now, both products are great, easy to recommend for various reasons, but a little pricey and will keep me shopping OLED Windows 10 laptops while I stand pat on my first-gen OLED Galaxy Chromebook.

Good luck!

I owned the prior iteration of the X2, and loved it lots. Beautiful screen, excellent stylus implementation, and great form factor.

Considering Chrome, it deserved more RAM, and the keyboard hinge mount was finicky. This version appears to have addressed both issues. If you like ChromeOS, this is a great price.

Well, it's more of a chrome os tablet with a keyboard than a laptop, but I agree that original price was crazy for the specs

It's not released yet, but I assume you're looking for the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5.

Here's [tomsguide.com] an announcement article.

The gen2 version of this Snapdragon is just slightly faster in the Duet 5 2,55 gh instead of 2.4 but the same otherwise. Lenovo generally does better on its Display Port if you use monitors.

Both are a good deal the Duet is larger so if you want larger it is better for you.

This Snapdragon is faster than Celerons more similar to the Pentium. For a Chromebook it should be fast enough for almost anything especially with the 8GB DDR4.

Trying to understand how $400 for a tiny screen Chromebook is a good deal. I have a tiny screen Chromebook and would not buy another unless it was really cheap.

This looks like a cheap alternative to a surface if you don't need Windows.

In for one. Went "Open Box - Excellent" condition to save another $30.

Was waiting for the Lenovo Duet 5 for the OLED, but jumped on this. I really like the idea of OLED and $430, but I've been converted to a 3:2 believer after using the Acer 713. And I'd prefer 8 GB RAM, so betting I'll need to pay more than the $430 base price of the Lenovo.

As a big chromebook fan, I am wary of the price and processor at the moment.

This is more like a tablet than a laptop as it does not have tablet type hinges. You will need a base to use it. I have a couple of tablets but a chromebook like this is a no go. Many will like it though.
That feature is something I miss badly
