No, it will still downscale to the resolution of your TV. But this model is the best current Fire stick due to its speed.

I just got an atv4k 2021 on eBay for $130 sealed recently im really enjoying for its integrations into iOS stuff / specific uses, but dang $25 for Fire Stick 4k Max? I guess ill buy now and think about where it fits in my set ups later. I think 4k max is good for DoVi / 4k HDR on Hulu (Sony/android internal app only does 4k SDR apparently), also ATV4K 2021 is 4k HDR only on Hulu no DoVi.. probably some other perks
