Chrono Trigger might be my favorite game I've ever played.

Chrono Trigger: Get it, duh. Great price. Has gamepad support (I only got it to work with my SteelSeries Nimbus mifi certified controller, not with regular Bluetooth controllers like PS4/Xbox)

Secret of Mana: A classic, I want it, but looks blurry and a top reviewer says the visuals gives them a headache. Has gamepad support

I'm considering at least one of the others, but curious about gamepad support and if they're worth it (vs playing on original hardware or another console). I played FF Tactics on the GBA and enjoyed it, but battles just took too long imo.

I think you played FF Tactics Advance on GBA. FF Tactics: War of the Lions is a different game and experience entirely.

For example, the story is actually really good - you're thrust into the middle of a conflict between medieval kingdoms with lies, deception, and treachery.

The story also keeps things moving, and you don't really need to grind or repeat battles if you don't want to.

The skill system is a little different too, and there are no rules or judges.

I played it on the iPad with touch controls, it was delightful! Way better than I was expecting.

And if you've played the original FFT but not the War of the Lions re-release, it's worth it. I think the new translation is much better and does a better job of explaining and engaging you in the ongoing conflict.

Final Fantasy IV is a really good play on the iPad. If you're a fan of the later FF games, like VI,VII, VIII et al, this is the one that introduced a lot of the conventions we know and love about the series.

Too bad these deals are not for a platform that you can sit down and play comfortably in a sofa and on a tv.

Doesn't look like any of the pixel remasters are on sale. That's what I keep waiting on.

Same here. Waiting for pixel remaster to use my google credits
What are the pixel remasters? Are they labeled/identified a certain way?

Also, a bummer that some of them don't support cloud saves.

Final Fantasy Dimensions is actually a really good old school 2d style rpg. Dimensions 2 on the other hand is an unplayable mess and will never be updated to fix its issues. Buy one not the other

You missed one:
Trials of Mana Remake for 10.99.
https://play.google.com/store/app...leplay.tom
This is probably one of the best on the list.
I and my kids really enjoyed this game on PC and even consider getting it on mobile again...
Note they did not include native controller support but some reviewers said touch control works fine. I think for 10.99 it is a very good deal given how good the remake is, it looks really pretty and I'm surprised it can even run smoothly on phones.

I would not play chrono trigger with out a game controller since there are missions / tasks that require precise control / fast reflex i.e. the catch the rat in the mine mission.

Tactics is a great game. Kind of hardcore" and not a normal final fantasy at all, but I love it

But there's no controller support. This is a game NOT optimized for touch. It'll literally give you carpal tunnel. I'd strongly advise against it.

I also had a lot of issues with cloud saving. I basically quit using it entirely because it was too unreliable.
