I peeked at the promotion flyer while the employee was looking at it. Date shows 4/4 - 7/3 on the top of the title, so I am assuming this promo will last till July.

Can you get the activate today price if the phone is not in stock an needs to be ordered?
if so, thanks b/c this was the info i was looking for. i have tmobile postpaid plan and was wondering how long i would have to keep the new line open for? did you cancel the new line right there? any fees for activating or canceling a new line?
No requirement on how long you have to keep the line. Should be able to cancel immediately after getting the phone, since there's no bill credit or EIP or rebate to worry about.
I haven't cancelled my line - it hasn't showed up in the online billing portal yet. Probably because I ordered the phone for shipping, since it seems like most BBs don't stock unlocked S22s.
No activation fee for new T-mobile lines at BB.

from i've seen in other posts, i ask the sales rep to start the trade in to get the gift card first and then apply that to the cost of the new phone, right?
For a breakdown of what's possible right now:
Code:$800 base price for S22 128GB unlocked
-$200 for "Activate Today" (aka have a postpaid plan and let them touch it)
-$100 for AAL on T-Mobile (no EIP or bill credits, so you can turn around and cancel this the moment you get your phone)
-$x trade in (I got $300 for a 5 year old iPhone 8!!)
= $200 + tax on $500 Or alternately for a S22+:
Code:$1000 base price for S22+ 128GB unlocked
-$300 for "Activate Today"
-$100 for AAL on T-Mobile
-$x on trade in And S22 Ultra:
Code:$1200 base price for S22 Ultra 128GB unlocked
-$300 for "Activate Today"
-$100 for AAL on T-Mobile
-$x on trade in
I believe there's also a $100 AAL discount possible with AT&T, but I didn't try for myself.
As listed in the OP's link [bestbuy.com], you can get a $800 trade in on a S21U/N20U, $600 on a N20/S20+/S21+, $450 on a S20/21, $400 on a S20/iPhone 11, etc.
And as other people have mentioned previously, the purchase and trade in are separate transactions. You may be able to talk the rep into letting you trade in multiple phones on one purchase, but YMMV.
I believe official guidance is one trade in per purchase, but that's probably buried somewhere in their sales side documentation that nobody ever reads. There's certainly nothing in the system or workflow preventing them from doing multiple trade ins.
And as also mentioned, the trade in value comes in the form of a BB GC. You get to keep any excess.
Pretty amazing deal IMO. One of the best deals thus far for T-Mobile users with a trade in.
I am planning to do the similar thing, But I dont have any existing t-mobile account.
So Can I use "Activate Today" and create a new account with t-mobile?
Is there any downside for creating new account? Can I cancel the account the next day?
Is the below price estimate correct?
800 - 200 (activate today) - 300$ for S10e = 300$ + tax
Thanks in Advance.

I'm unsure what T-Mo's cancellation policies are (iirc they don't prorate), so you might be stuck paying a whole month's worth of a plan.
899 S22u unlocked
600 Trade in s21+
---
299 + tax
Bby activated and gave me a new SIM.i then called TMo and converted to an esim.

and is it valid on the watch 4 classic?

I hadn't had much much with that processes. My local Best Buys refuse to allow trading in more than 1 phone for 1 transaction purchase.
With the offer in the link above, does it mean I can buy an S22 Ultra 512GB ($29.16/mo - $1049.99) from Best Buy then trade my S8+ in with Verizon and get an additional $400 off through monthly credits ($18.06/mo - $649.99)?
Nevermind, I found the answer.
"1 *New line or new account $599.99, upgrade $699.99."
It can be done with an upgrade, you just won't get the extra $100 off for adding a new line on TM.
