This is an amazing laptop. LOVE the screen, very high quality and I think this is the screen ratio laptops should be coming in.

I got stupidly lucky months ago when Walmart put these on clearance for $199.99 here locally. Was able to snag one via Brickseek. Totally YMMV, as I don't see myself getting that kind of lucky again.

the screen here is very high quality as reviewed, may be the same as screen as Microsoft surface

Yes, it is 8GB soldered dual channel ram, so no expansion. With Windows 11, I've seen no issue to have more than 8GB for my needs. Even done some light gaming, design work, etc.

There is a single M2 slot, which houses the initial 512GB drive. I've since upgraded that to a 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus since they've gotten so cheap.

USB-C charging and a mini-barrel plug charger, so plenty of flexibility there.

It is very light, yet very solidly built in my opinion. Aluminum and not plastic.

Nice finger print reader for security and Windows Hello. I think the only thing that'd be an awesome add, is if the screen was touch. But not complaining that it doesn't have it.

What about using a BT mouse?
I like the Logitech M510 which doesn't use Bluetooth.

Ah, had I thought you meant the screen is same as a laptop manufactured by Microsoft.
BTW, I wanted to buy that one for my mom (needs to do Skype & use MS Word & Chrome) but it used to sell for $450.
Yes this (Acer Spin 3 SP313-51N-50R3) is very much comparable to Surface as Acer Spin 3 is touchscreen, has stylus and is a 2-in-1 form factor. Just for $549, its seems worth it.

Description says "It weighs as little as 2.62 pounds" which seems like an odd way to describe the weight. Is that the correct weight?

How about this - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/d...hh753vlzrq [microsoft.com]
This gives touchscreen and active stylus and a convertible form factor. Also, this can be combined with Amex Offers for 75+ cash back for $500+ on Microsoft

I haven't shopped on MIcrosoft store so I'm not sure how is the experience on shopping on Microsoft
I wish that spin 3 has a 3:2 aspect ratio.

Also I read that there are some issues with the stylus on spin3, and the keyboard is not great. The screen resolution and aspect ratio is much better than 1080p/16:9, but still far from a Surface Pro 8. You get what you pay for, I guess

I was comparing to Acer Swift 3, I think for $50 more the Acer Spin 3 sounds to be more appealing. BTW, the stylus is Wacom compatible so you can buy any other wacom compatible stylus as per your taste. The resolution is still 16:10 which is better than 16:9 and closer to 3:2.

Battery life is excellent, obviously depends on your use, but this thing can easily go 10-12 hours on medium workloads of consistent use. If you're running games constantly, I'd say 8-10 hours; the integrated Xe is no slouch at all. Very easily 12-15 hours for just browsing, videos, open and shut type use.

Also, the Thunderbolt 4 works perfect and as intended for uses like an eGPU. Connected it up to a Razer Core X with an FE 3080 Ti and it becomes a beast for gaming. Also fully charges through that single Thunderbolt cable. So a very nice setup for someone that wants a portable solution with desktop/eGPU functionality.

I purchased it after your comments, thank you. Just got the laptop, big fan of the screen and weight. Any idea how to access the advanced bios menu? To change processor TDPs, etc...

Congrats! Haven't checked on or messed with the Bios for TDP yet, but you can get to the Bios via Delete or F2 at start-up.

I mainly use Throttlestop for any kind of CPU tweaking, but haven't even put it on this laptop, as the recent Intels are locked down (Due to Plundervolt exploit), and most really don't need it, as they're a dynamic TDP anyways.

I was eyeballing this to replace two work laptops for my business, but found an awesome deal at Costco for an MSI Summit with an i7 for $749:

https://www.costco.com/msi-summit...09103.html

I know the i7 may not seem worth it for an extra $250 to some but it was to me.

In addition to the i7 you get a touchscreen, 16GB ram, Wifi 6E and BT 5.2 as well for that extra $250. Screen resolution is lower, it's 16:10 rather than 3:2. and it weighs more.
