Picked one up yesterday, notice that Costco offers 8 year warranty on the batteries. Need to register for the battery warranty. Seems like a really nice lawnmower

They have a video on the lawnmower page for the 8 year warranty and it points you to the registration page where you need to register for the 8 year warranty;
"Beginning January of 2022, Costco customers get FREE replacement batteries for 8 years! That's right! A 4-year extended warranty on top of the current industry-leading Greenworks 4-year base warranty on rechargeable 80-volt lithium-ion batteries."
Not having to deal with gas, spark plugs, air filters, pull strings, carburetors, etc. Times are changing, keep up.
For those confused about why the online price is $529 and not $499 as OP mentions, Costco usually includes shipping price in the price of items online, esp larger items like this. Items can often be bought cheaper in store hence the difference...

Anyone know of any Costco stores in the DMV area that has them in stock? Been to 3 different stores without any luck. Thanks!

Worth calling the store and asking their inventory and if they don't have it, they can tell you when they're getting more or if any stores around you have any.

That's what I did and they were very helpful.

I picked one up along with the leaf blower.

I bought this last week but found that the batteries even fully charged only show 3-4 lights in the mower. Is it normal?

Is it too much for a 1500 sqft lawn, tall fescue, almost flat land. This one seems a little expensive too.

That's the best part of the deal (8 year warranty on the batts) if they do honor it, I would check to make sure. Originally GW offered 4 years on the tools, 2 years on the batts, newer GW models offer 4 years on both. Costco does double the warranty on certain items. I have owned the previous model of 80V mower (not SP) and four other 80V lawn tools for about 4 years. My experience is that 2-3 years use on the batts is about all you can expect, and they are pricey ($200+ each for the 4Ah version).

My only complaint about the mower is that it doesn't have much vacuum or "pick up" power for leaves & twigs when mulching. It passes over stuff that my 6HP gas mower would suck up and mulch. Maybe this later model is better in that respect? The pitch on the mower blade is pretty shallow, I assume to have less air resistance and give longer run times at the expense of suction & pick up power.

Looks like a decent deal when you consider the cost of the two batts alone is over $400.

It might be overkill. I've seen the 60V SP mower with 5Ah battery & charger for under $200 (bought one for my GF about 2 years ago). I don't know if this deal will come up again or not, but it would be better suited for your smallish yard.

I have this mower. .89 acres and it'll do the whole lawn on one battery. I use the other battery with the GW's edger and still have a 1/2 battery left when I'm done. Mines one year old and zero issues.
