then you are comparing apple to orange. The above WM models are completely not the same as the one i am posting. They are from the Essential series and is inferior in a lot of way: only HDMI 1.4 and usb-c without DP and PD . No backlit keyboard! Also Wifi 1x1 and BT 4.2.
The only deal that is better was when WM had this exact chassic (and all of the goods that came with it) back in 2020 BF for $380. That came with the 4500U. The lucky people that got in on the early drop got the backlit keyboards with all the later shipments have no backlit keys. And every single WM laptop that has this chassic with its good selection of ports since then had lack the backlit keyboards. I can tell you also that it is not all easy to retrospectively put in a backlit keyboard in this chassic because the keyboard can't just be removed from the chassic by undoing a few screws.
The devil is really in the details! There is a very good reason why the HP laptops that use this particular chassic have higher price than those other cheaper ones!
I can tell you right now that you are not going to find another laptop with all the above specs for cheaper right now (or since at least BF)

I was able to get it down to $449. Was actually hoping for more than just $30 additional discount. HP doesn't seem to be as generous as Lenovo on edu discount.
Latest FFS games and MSFS might give you problem unless you keep it at 1080p with low settings or 720p.
Gaming on this laptop is definitely not out of question as long as you keep it reasonable. It is faster than GeForce MX250 but a bit slower than GTX 950

As a reference, last BF, I got the same configuration but in Essential series for $320 using EPP. It was about $70 EPP discount then.
Also can I use this laptop for Adobe Premiere video editing?

Should do fine with premiere given the 6 core 12 threads. or you can pay a bit more for the 5700U with 8C/16T when you customize the laptop (just 15% faster so probably not worth the additional cost IMO).
If you have edu email, you can get additional discount down to $449 before tax.

As far as the laptop goes, for the price I find it a fantastic deal. Has no issues running a virtual machine without slowing down the host, and the VM runs fast. Fans don't run all the time and when they do, they're fairly quiet. Display is accurate and crisp, with no glare, and gets quite bright. Nice backlit keyboard with number pad, also came with a fingerprint sensor, which isn't the most accurate, but its there and comes in handy for password ID. The laptop is also quite compact and light with minimal bezel around the display.
Just wish it had an ethernet port, though it does have WiFi6, so if you have a WiFi 6 router, the transfer speeds are about twice as fast compared to WiFi5. I can transfer a 9GB compressed file within 90 seconds with WiFi6, compared to about 180 seconds with WiFi5.
Just FYI, if you want to use WiFi 6 on your HP Laptop (must have a WiFi 6 capable router), I had to go into the Windows device manager and under Network Adapters, open the Realtek RTL8852AE WiFi driver and disable the 2.4G Wireless Mode under Advanced. When I did that, the driver switched to WiFi 6 mode. This might be also necessary to ensure it uses WiFi 5 by default rather than 2.4G.

Yeah, it does seem that if you get this model from HP they all come with fingerprint reader as compared to getting it from WM which doesn't come with backlit keys or fingerprint reader. So another plus for getting it from HP
Also, did yours come with the fingerprint reader?
As for the WiFi adapter, I haven't had any issues with it. WiFi 6 works great. A few times I found the WiFi disconnected when coming out of sleep mode, but that could have been a router issue. I was able to reconnect easily through Windows WiFi manager. Other than that, I find the WiFi stable.
