Great deal OP! Used to have a Sonicare diamondclean but never again after seeing how well this unit performs at a fraction of the price. One note: this device ships in a mode that initially brushes with less intensity to allow new users time to "get used to" their new electric toothbrush--you need to disable this mode (instructions in the box) to enable the full force brushing many of us prefer

I believe this is the old 4100.

Quote from Amazon:
Q: What is the difference between the 4100 and the new 4100?
A: Hello! The Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean 4100 Toothbrush removes up to 7x more plaque than a manual toothbrush. Meanwhile, the new Philips Sonicare 4100 Power Toothbrush HX3681/23 removes up to 5x more more plaque than a manual toothbrush. This new model also has 2 intensity settings ensure a comfortable clean that's right for you. Lastly, it charges through a USB charger (wall adaptor not included).

This model gets the same 31,000 brush strokes and 62,000 movements in clean mode as the higher end models.

If you are used to the higher-end models, what you will lose is multiple additional cleaning modes, travel charger/case, additional heads, premium handle. If those features are important to you then you probably need a higher-end model. I previously had a diamond clean that abruptly died after 4 years or so. During that time, I don't think I ever used any other mode other than standard clean mode. The only additional item that I probably need vs my last diamond clean is the travel case/charger.

Imo this is a great price. Just bought this a few weeks ago at the normal price of $50 and don't regret it. Best buy's customer service sucks but hopefully you won't need it.

One recommendation when you start using it is to turn off three settings.
-brush sync (replacement timer)
-pressure sensor
-easy to start mode(starts with lower settings and ramps ups with each brushing)

it's pretty simple and the manual explains how to do it.

So the newer model (not the posted one here) is less effective but has more settings and can charge via USB?

I'm on an old version of the Phillips sonic care that uses the old style tooth brushes. Was looking to upgrade and also burn rewards that bestbuy auto issued and expire soon. All these newer models use the same toothbrush head correct?

Wat. I've had this for over a year and didn't know. As someone who may have thrown the box away, can you share the unlocking secret?
