Obviously won't work for PS5 before anyone asks and couldn't bother to spend 30 seconds of their worthless time googling it.
This video will demonstrate it better than I can explain it. Linus Tech Tips did a blind comparison with 3 identical systems, with only the SSD types being swapped out. People couldn't really tell the difference if they weren't pulling out a stopwatch or using a benchmarking tool.

In short, 2tb > 1tb and the speed difference will be negligible. However, the 980 in 1tb is warrantied for 600TBW while this 2tb drive is good for 1200TBW. I'd return the 870 and get this.

980 is more expensive than this, it'll smoke crucial p5, 2tb might be slightly faster so comparing a similar(970 Evo) 2tb drive to P5 on user benchmark gets the following results:

Then there's the other funny part where you just proved another person's point by not taking the very short amount of time needed to Google the answer, yourself, because you're lazy. I hope people stop helping people like you. You guys need to learn how to find answers on your own.
The answer to why this won't work with a PS5 takes less than 2 minutes to find. Maybe someone else will tell you, but on principle, I won't. People need to learn how to fish, instead of just being fed.
