Step 1) Buy LG V30 on eBay for $50 in flawless condition

Step 2) Root it and install Android 11 on it

Step 3) Enjoy all the features it has that are better than the Nord N200

Step 4) Instead of buying a yearly plan for ~$15/month through an MVNO, pay T-Mobile ludicrous amounts for their garbage plans so you can get a statement credit and a new Oneplus Nord N200.

Hard pass.

You'll still have to pay shipping and tax on the new phone. Comes out to $20-$30 depending on your sales tax. Just FYI

Since they just took down 3G, I think that's going to be a while.

You have to be on a T-Mobile plan to take advantage of this "free" phone (that requires you to trade in a phone first). T-mobile has garbage coverage outside of cities. Also, from T-Mobile's own website, MM costs between 47-57$ per line per month.
YMMV I live in Arkansas, and I got T-Mobile in July of 2021 while keeping my ATT account. To date I have coverage and mostly 5g coverage with T-Mobile everywhere I have it with ATT. There is actually less 5G coverage on ATT. In many rural places my TM stays connected, and I lose signal with ATT.. Point being TM has come a long way in coverage since I tried this experiment 4 years ago. My ATT phone is an LG V60, and TM is One plus 9 Pro.

Call me shocked and 30 years with ATT first as Rogers, then ATT, then Southwestern Bell, then Cingular and back to ATT I am cutting ties next month.

2 Weeks ago, I got the T-Mobile Home internet added external antennas and am getting 850-900 down and 75 up on average. 50.00 a month. No caps (yet) are a good deal. I'll test it for a few more weeks but if things stay as they are COX is getting the AX next.

Turning 55 saved me 10 per device and the home internet is only 40.00 in fees so that alone is a huge help. So, I got 3 phones and 2 tablets. and home internet for less than 150.00 per month. Magenta Max on the phones Unlimited data on tablet plans. And decent coverage.

I can't complain when ATT was charging 207.00 for the same devices and Cox is charging
109.00 for internet. 1K

I'm sure they will screw it up but I am going to take it for now.

Gone are the days when contracts were explicitly called contracts. You would sign for 24-months and would get the best of the best phone option. Now, we are happy to do the same for a mid-ranger with trade-ins because its not a contract 😀😀😃😃

Actually I am better than you. I pay $120 includes tax and fee per month for 8 lines.
Only additional 5 or 7 dollars for Netflix premium service.
I pay $53 per month for 9 lines unlimited everything, including taxes and Netflix. There are others that can even beat that price, so I wouldn't get too cocky with your strutting $120 for 8 lines.

True, these no-contract "contracts" are prevalent these days. But they are not required for service, just if you want to bite on a new device promo that locks you in. And they are no where near as shady as some of the old contracts that had ridiculous and expensive early termination clauses.

They are separate promos. The N200 is promo T985: One Plus Trade P5. Not sure what the Revvl is, but it's obviously not under the same T985. So you could do 8 if you had 8 lines. Or, in your case you could do 4 of one promo, pay off one completely, and then do 4 of the other promo. Or just 7 in total (4 of one promo, 3 of the other) without any early payoff. That's assuming you don't have any financed phones currently on any lines.

EDIT: That will tie up all 7 of your lines, though. If you were thinking of doing a flagship phone deal on possible Mother's Day deal, or say the holidays, you would need to pay off the balance of the "free" phone before doing so. You'll still get the monthly credits for the N200 or Revvl, but it will move to account level credits, so that you can do another financed deal on same line.
Thanks so much for your help !!!

Unless you pay the game correctly (not this!) and ended up with a free unlocked Moto G Pure this month, no strings attached from Visible with a $5 first month.

Or got deeply discounted flagship phones from TMo when they were introduced this year and last with trade-ins. I don't mind 24-month payments on those.

This cheap Chinese stuff loses support in a year or less. It's been out for a year, so it's now ancient and about to be discontinued.

You can do it in-store. Or you can place the order online and ship out your trade-in. I opted for the online order myself and mailed out the trade-in. As others have said, you still have to pay for shipping and taxes online. If you do this in-store, you'll pay taxes and probably the $30 customer assistance fee.
I haven't been following instore cell stuff for a long time. Didn't know there was a fee now to talk to someone. Probably slightly cheaper to ship old phone in, and pay shipping out. But with porch pirates, etc, the $30 doesn't sound so bad Smilie

Dunno... EC4U2C's screenshot says "or $100 refill". Sounds like prepaid too.

I'd sell that on Ebay and get 200+ bucks for it.

Not sure if shipping fees vary by city. But for me, the cheapest shipping option is $6.99 and I usually receive it in about 3 business days or less (TX to NY). Sometimes the online order system doesn't work for me and Tforce has to place the order on my behalf. When Tforce does it for me, they usually waive the shipping charge so you can try your luck there also if you want avoid shipping fees.

Do you (or anyone else) know if there's a limit to account level promos? For example, can an account with 8 lines have something crazy like 32 account-level promos plus 8 line-level promos at the same time?

If it matters, I am on a T-Mobile Connect Prepaid $15/month plan.
