Step 1) Buy LG V30 on eBay for $50 in flawless condition

Step 2) Root it and install Android 11 on it

Step 3) Enjoy all the features it has that are better than the Nord N200

Step 4) Instead of buying a yearly plan for ~$15/month through an MVNO, pay T-Mobile ludicrous amounts for their garbage plans so you can get a statement credit and a new Oneplus Nord N200.

Hard pass.

You'll still have to pay shipping and tax on the new phone. Comes out to $20-$30 depending on your sales tax. Just FYI

Did you find the exact model of your phone in their list of phones that you will be trading in?
Yep. It was a LG. For the manufacturer, I had to choose TracFone and not LG.

How to get this offer:
-Trade in any undamaged, functioning cell phone.
-Purchase a new OnePlus N200 5G on a monthly payment plan and pay applicable sales tax on pre-credit price at time of purchase.
-Receive 24 monthly bill credits totaling $216.00.
-A $30 assisted or upgrade support charge may be required.

For me, that is $15 tax + $30 support fee (if not waived) = $45 for the N200.
And don't forget the 2 year commitment...not a great deal IMHO
Some people are locked into T-Mobile with extremely cheap plans that can't be matched by any other provider so it doesn't matter. Not to mention these free phones can be traded up to the other mid-tier phones and eventually to premium phones.

That's how I got a free pixel 6. T-Mobile gave away the LG Velvet 5G for free and when the pixel 6 came out the Velvet was eligible as a trade-in for the pixel 6. The same with the free LG K51 that I also traded in for another pixel 6.

You need to plan ahead and play the system.

Does it work for pre paid?
No this is for post paid plans, This phone can be used on a prepaid plan , but the offer is only available to postpaid customers. If your on prepaid you need to check the TMO prepaid site every month as they randomly have FREE phone offers for prepaid, the catch? You have to add usually between $100-150 in airtime to your prepaid account to receive one of the free phones. However if you plan on staying with TMO and your on say the $40 prepaid plan you have just prepaid for 3 - 4 months of service.
Once that service credit is over, in a few months when the offer comes around again you can take advantage of it again ! So 2 -3 free phones every year if you want( if your on the $40 or higher plan) if you catch the offers and your credit is used up. it also works on the $15 prepaid plan I should know I've done it for an aunt and uncle multiple times there credited up till next year..

I just got this phone. It's going to be a backup phone and something for the kids to watch videos or play games.

Performance isn't great. There is lag everywhere. The haptics are horrible. The camera is pretty bad. The screen isn't bad. I turned off the 90hz for better performance.

Battery life is damn good. The single down firing speaker gets pretty loud. It has 5G if you care about it. Fingerprint sensor on the power button is really cool. I wish more companies would do that.

This is fine for a backup phone or something for the kids to play with. I wouldn't daily this phone though.

Yeah, I was just trying to break it all down for a newb. I am not new to the game. I have been doing these deals for years. Among others, I also did the LG Velvet 5G for free x 6 lines, then upgraded, then flipped for profit. Same process with iPhone 12 deal last year x 7 lines. T-Mobile has basically been paying me for using their cell phone service for years. LOL.

I pay $53 per month for 9 lines unlimited everything, including taxes and Netflix. There are others that can even beat that price, so I wouldn't get too cocky with your strutting $120 for 8 lines.
Oh ya? Well, I pay about $350 per month for 9 lines and with device payments it's over $600 a month. So beat that!

Haha. Yup. I'm keeping my eyes open for the upcoming mother day deal. If it's anything like last year we'll be making out.

I would have a hard time "beating" that. I Definitely wouldn't try!!! You have 9 lines and still pay almost $40 per line? And you have to pay close to $30 per line net per month for phones? You're doing it ALL WRONG!

The person you were quoting is paying less than $6 per line x 9 lines for MMax plan, including the Netflix 4K/4Stream premium upgrade. I have same setup, well, now I have to pay 5 cents more per line to cover the tax on $5 lol

Lol, some of us pay less than $15 per line for Magenta Max. So for me, everything you said above is garbage. I grab these "free with any trade" phones just to have as backup or to use as wifi devices around the house. Since I'm on MMax, and not an MVNO, I also grab free with trade flagship phones as well. Since I feel I have a good deal on my plan, I never go griping about bill credits or being locked down for 24 months. . .as it doesn't matter to me
Man, how do you get $15 for Magenta max!!?
I have 9 lines on T-Mobile One plan and pay $16 per line after Kick back discount

Why would anyone wants to waste his time to get this piece of junk? 64 GB memory and the whole phone is slow as hell. No wonder Tmobile tries to get rid of it with free 24 months bill credit.

Why would you give them a new phone when they break it repeatedly? Teach them they have to care for their phone or they'll have none. If they are forced to survive for a year without a phone, believe me they'll never break one ever again.
Haha. Sure. BTW, that's not how it works.

Case in point - phone in great case - responsible daughter ran over by boys rough housing in school hallway, dropped phone. Screen shattered. Has NOTHING to do with her personal care.

Other daughter - borderline extremely careless - I get her throwaway phones such as this for that exact reason. Our life (sports, school, etc) would not work if everyone didn't have a phone. She's been running with a broken A32 for almost 18 months. A32 is a free TMo 'trade in a phone for a 5G phone' upgrade. Cracked but functional. I'm getting this free phone to give to her. (I'll probably get a 2nd one too since it's free.)
