It's definitely a good price. But from experience in installing both units, if given the option, I'd rather have their WYS (Midea OEM) than this WYT (TCL OEM) model. Just based on overall built quality.

I purchased a Ductless Air. It's the #1 reviewed 1 ton and recommended Mini Split on HD so spent the extra. Also running a rebate if installed by a professional. Been waiting for a sale. Still way more than the sale they ran last year, but I need it before summer starts. Thanks for setting off my alert.

Considering how everything has come up in price, I think these units are good values, not the best value but good value nonetheless. Normally, I favor the 230v units but in this case the 120v is a tiny bit more efficient and a tiny bit better HSPF. I guess with those tiny differences, it doesn't really matter which one you pick (if your electrical stuff is of no concern). The best deal in 1 ton mini splits I have seen from a reputable place in this site was an EdgeStar branded unit a while ago before everything went to S$%*.

1 ton AC is recommended for around 600 square feet. A 2 car garage is about 400 square feet so chances are good you would be happy with it.

I had no idea the difference. I've installed several units that were WYS 1.5 ton in mini homes/cabins and when customers would supply units, they were always Pioneer units that I always felt were of lesser quality. I now see why.

We exclusively install and maintain Mitsubishi units. Quiet, efficient, zero vibration, and smooth startup.

Flare-type, just screw on and tighten to proper torque level.

Probably but hard to say. This has to do with the size of the garage, height, insulation condition (if any, most garages are not fully insulated), climate, and sun exposure. A typical 2 car garage is around 400 sq. ft. A 1 ton mini split can cool something in the range of 400 to 500 sq. ft in ideal conditions. So, if you live in a humid place, facing the sun, larger than 400 sq. ft. garage, taller than normal, un-insulated, etc, then this is inadequate.

If you look at comparison specs for the two voltage units the 230 volts has a lower SEER and COP rating. Also uses more energy annually. I generally agree with your statement but for this instance the 120 unit wins.
Can the rating numbers be trusted to make good comparison?

IMO fridge and air conditiioner are power hungry items and 230v is for power hungry.

Spec says maximum is 50 line set (purchased separately). Also unit is pre charged with refrigerant for line sets up to 25 feet.
The unit is precharged but the lines are not. The Mr cool diy system comes with vacuumed lines that's why they are more expensive.
I think you can buy a longer precharged Line to go with this unit but not 100% sure about the connection.
