These things are usually more trouble than they are worth unless you are only using a small hose like under 50' imo

Any one else used it? How does it hold up. Houston here and the summers here can pretty much eat anything in its way.

It won't hold up in Texas heat i've had one lasted about 5 or 6 years the plastic eventually became brittle at the weakest point I had a very large hose reeled in it and one forgets that the added weight of water within the hose adds to weakening the reel over time.

Same problem in South Florida. I bought two of these a few years ago, and both are brittle at both the frame and the hose reel

Do you leave the nozzle open after shutting off the hose?

Hardly see hose reels on slick deals. The usual complains about Suncast is the handle breaks or the connector leaks. I'll give it a shot for $30.

It vents once I remove the sprayer head off of the hose but there will always be water that is stationary within the hose regardless.

I wouldnt put it in the sun. We have one and it sits completely unused. Its more of a pita than its worth. I would invest in something high quality that isnt dependent on running the actual water through it.

No grass, gets direct sun maybe half the day. I do drain it after every use and only use it a couple times a week, as I have irrigation.

These all plastic ones are more trouble than they're worth in my experience - six years ago I sprung for an Ames NeverLeak cart from Lowes, a bit pricey at around $90 that time, but it's still solid and in the sun all day, and I only just added a stronger leader hose. Some recent reviews indicate plastic connectors where the hoses connect, but my connectors are metal, so hopefully they didn't cheap out over time.

Wish this had a tray at the top to hold all the excess nozzles.

The inlet pipe is of poor quality - you will pay another $10 - $15 for a good one.

Mine has been lasting 6 yrs now
