I have a sneaky suspicion when these 3d titles are no longer peoduced they will become very valuable because a nice 3d projector is a great experience in home theatre setups.. love it in my 120" screen! loading up more for my collection! thanks

Thanks for the posting again. Ordered the 3 movies from the list that I don't have (and want).

Thank you. Helping to complete the collection. I still don't understand why 3D failed at home when they still project them in theaters.

I haven't been paying too close attention but I haven't seen or heard of a 3D film at a theater in years. What's the most recent 3D film at a theater?

EEK! You're right, it is showing in 3D. Consider me shocked! I haven't seen any films in recent times being offered in 3D. Cool!

I always figured that 3D will make a comeback once blu-ray media can handle 4K 3D resolutions. I figure that will be the next thing in-between the leap from 4K to 8K. At 8K you're pretty much maxed out. No films from years ago have a resolution that would benefit beyond 8K. Even 8K probably won't be that significant unless you have an absolutely gigantic TV screen.

I would say most animated movies and those with a lot of CGI (like superhero) still make the big screen in 3D.

so this is 3D only means you cannot watch it without the glasses? Or it'll just play like regular movie?

No Way Home was also 3D in the theaters for a brief time and it looked Spectacular or Amazing depending on your favorite Spider-Man

You need a 3D TV first and foremost then you're going to need 3D glasses. If you have a 3D TV you almost certainly have 3D glasses. They are the same exact glasses used in theaters. Unless you have the other 3D TV technology that requires active 3D glasses (runs on a battery).

If you're asking if the 3D blu ray can play in 2D the answer is usually yes. Most usually include some sort of 2D film along with it. But sometimes they don't. You'd be best off researching each film you intend to buy here. It looks like some of the films for sale here are international versions. I see foreign languages on the covers of some of these movies. Finding that information can be difficult to find.

I've heard that even 35mm film is the equivalent to a good 4K transfer. Perhaps IMAX transfers would benefit from 8K, but those aren't exactly ubiquitous in movies either.
