I bought this about a year ago in a different package with case and battery. The driver itself is awesome. You can use it for lug nuts, rusty bolts, etc. torque is impressive, fits nicely in hand, well balanced with battery. If you are in the M18 family already and need an. Impact driver, grab it.

Lug nuts? Do you use an adapter? I figured this wouldn't have enough torque.

Why is that? I was under the impression that the surge fuel had slightly less power thank this but it is 50% quieter.

Yes u use a 1/2 adapter. It took off lugbolts at 150ft lb in an instant.

I got in on the hammer drill/impact driver deals for $173 each earlier this week(with case + 2x 5.0ah batteries).

Thinking about returning the impact driver set and getting this one instead. Would be ~$90 cheaper but would only have 2x 5.0ah batteries instead of 4x, and no case for the impact driver.

Anyone know how long the 5.0ah batteries last for the drill/impact driver? Need to know whether having 4x would be useful or if only having 2x would be just fine?

Thanks.

I have both the fuel and the surge. The surge is nice it's quieter but does have less torque. I mainly use the surge for projects inside the house. And the fuel for outside that need more power. I don't think the power difference is that big but it is there.

How do you tool hack? Never done it before. Order and then how do you cancel?

Typically I say to each their own, differences are marginal, but I'm another advocate to avoid Surge. I got three of my guys each a Surge, they all reported back the performance is noticeably inferior - they use an impact all day every day, might not be as noticeable to others. Two of them had the collet fall off within the first three weeks. I looked into it and it turns out that's a very known issue which has caused a big uproar in the Milwaukee fanbase. They're continuing to manufacture it, not addressing it and just waiting until it launches the next generation (4th). I was able to return all three and got this impact instead. This impact is arguably one of the best impact drivers on the market right now - Project Farm's YouTube Best Tools of 2020 [youtube.com]. I'm tempted to buy it just to have another but I already have this, a DeWalt XR, Bosch Freak EC, M12 Fuel (thanks SD for fueling my addiction) and I grab the M12 Fuel impact the most but if I need something with some more umph, it's this every time.

Most of these milwaukee impacts can pull off lugs they are all very powerful. The m12 little impact could take off lugs with the small battery.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised. This is a serious tool. Here is a good real world review if you have a few minutes to watch: https://youtu.be/gnDw24JQFWg
