I'm gonna tell you something. The electronics and touch screens on these will ultimately fail and you'll be looking for a new blender. The old school vitamix with the analog dials/potentiometers will remain user serviceable, indefinitely.

That's what 10 year warranty is for. I have the same model since 4 years and it's awesome. I have smaller blender cups and Aer Disc. Ascent/Venturist series is the way to go if you want Vitamix in this day and age.

Where Vitamix wins over other blenders is the versatility/different options for jars and containers. I don't think so any other manufacturer is there yet.
I have an old Vitamix that I used for 6 months or so and now sits in the closet collecting dust.
The reality is that it is expensive buying fresh produce and supplements, assembling them and then processing everything that you want to mix together. It gets old after a short while.

its not even that. i'm half blind in the mornings anyway, barely awake. the last thing i want i s a screen i cant see.

and they also perform better. I have this A3500 and an old 5200. I've had to service the 3500 four times in a single year. Despite babying it, this thing cannot handle daily blending of cruciferous vegetables at all without eventually burning out. My 5200 has been running daily with the same exact workload for nearly 20 years and I haven't had a single problem with it. I can even dump all the ingredients in at once and it has no problems, unlike the 3500, which you have to treat like a princess or else it will get upset and die.
Vitamix customer service likes to pretend they've never heard of anyone ever having a single issue with the 3500, when I have two friends who have had the exact same issues as me.
Trust me when I say this thing is an overpriced, fancy POS. Stick with the 5200 and never look back.
