How do you tell if they charge tax or not?
When you submit an offer, you get an email that there is a counter offer. And usually they'll note if there is tax. I'll copy and paste the pertinent part of the email:

We wanted to inform you that your offer for the LG C1PU 77" Class HDR 4K UHD Smart OLED TV has received a counter-offer!

If you raise your offer to $2499, it will get accepted instantly. This $2499 price is the TOTAL AMOUNT that you will be charged (including free shipping).

Please let me know if your interested in raising your offer by either replying to this email or changing your price here.

If you have any questions, feel free to reply and I'll get back to you right away.

Please Note: The retailer does not charge tax in PA and shipping is free! The total price you will pay is $2499

People still buy TVs for $2000+ ??? I can get 50-60 inch for $600. IF it's stops working I can get another one for $600.🤷 ♂️
You can get a really crappy TV for $600. If you want a high end display that outputs 120hz framerates and perfect blacks, then you have to pay for it.

Who are the 2 idiots that are thumbs downing most comments here? Haters of the Sony?

Let me just say to all who would hate. I bought my parents the 65" C1 2 months ago from one of the big sales. I fully calibrated it and I have to say, I hated the picture quality of that TV and it almost turned me off to spending so much on the Sony.

Everyone should know, all the reviews saying the A80J and C1 are neck in neck, are absolutely BOGUS!

The A80J is simply amazing, clear, clean, liquidy and just jaw dropping in every way. To me the C1 was grainy and rough in picture quality. It's not ugly but not a tv anyone should ever compare to the A80J again!
You are shadow boxing with the non-existent LG fans you imagined up in your head, and actually revealing urself as the LG hater after accusing anonymous downvoters as being LG fans without having an ounce of proof?

I have yet to see any LG fans hating on Sony. On the contrary, I've seen way too many Sony fans talking shit about C1, saying absurd things like the two TVs being incomparable with Sony absolutely demolishing LG. Seeing as how reliable sources like rtings only give 0.1 more point to Sony in categories that you guys claim Sony to destroy LG on, I'm not sure if I believe you "LG haters."

Rtings rate both TVs at 8.8. They are very comparable TVs and both are amazing, so stop being weird on the internet getting so carried over with which TV is better.

PS - Oh, and surprise surprise! Your friend, another Sony fanboy, is saying A80CJ is better than C1 in gaming as well, LOL! Rtings must be full of shit if you guys are claiming everything they said to be false.

What's up with the fans of anything Japan? Always so insecure and hostile. FFXIV fans are NOTORIOUS for acting just like you guys, being so overly hostile towards all other competitor games and being overly fixated on the one product they've dedicated the entirety of their lives on.

Yup agreed. I had them both (77in) side by side at home and the A80J is much better - to my eyes at least. The PQ, motion on the a80j with the XR processor is much better then the C1 with the A9. Plus, I prefer the google OS better than the LG. Gaming on the PS5 is also noticeably a better experience for me.

I should also add that I was looking forward to buy the C1 for a year now, couldn't wait to get it home. Once I did, the motion processing bothered the heck outta me having had the Pano VT60 plasma that it was replacing for 8 years. The A80j - while not 100% there with the motion handling of the VT60, it's much closer vs the C1.
This is what I'm looking forward to, as a current owner of the 65VT60 and a 65" CX OLED. The 77" A80J will be a size upgrade as well as getting as close as possible to the still amazing VT60 (when it comes to motion handling) with all the benefits of the OLED.

You can also buy lots of things at different price ranges, cars, cloths, food, etc. it's just a matter of quality, material, ingredients etc.

Fair point. I'm still rocking a Haier 42 inch tv from about 6 years ago. We do most watching via tablet. The debate in our house is get a new big TV such as this one or once again spend July on the beach with remote work.

I got this TV last week incredible quality. The only problem is that it makes my 65" QLED TV looks so small in comparison. It doesn't get as bright as my QLED but bright enough for 90% of my needs.

How long did you need to wait for the price adjustment approved?
