You can always disable touchscreen

Press Windows Key + X to open the quick access menu.
Select Device Manager. ...
Double-click the Human Interface Devices heading to expand the list of devices within.
Right-click on HID-compliant touch screen and select Disable device.

I do not believe you are forced to use the touch screen. Just don't use it. Touch screen adds a touch of weight. Same laptop touch vs non-touch is a bit heavier. I'm waiting for the new XPS 13.4 plus deal, but too new for any deals.

Perfer a laptop for a tablets use but having a full keyboard is necessary & a hard shell for protection. Also the swivel makes nice stand
