So tempting. Must resist....send prayers, my will is weak
supposedly this generations performs better and has a copper slug cold plate now
I get that B660m motherboards in general aren't very "value friendly" yet, but yeah...that arguably needs to go on sale too to make such a better pairing.

Paying more for the MB then CPU is just kinda meh on principle. This 12400 is constantly on sale in this price range lately. You ain't going to realistically be "missing out" passing this one over. I'd be waiting to find a better sale on any of the MSI brand BB660 mb really.

Currently using it with a 3080 ti on my SFF pc and runs perfectly for me for 4K gaming at High/Ultra settings, since the games I play are GPU-bound at those resolutions.

IDK why they even bother adding in the cooler. Everyone should be replacing the intel stock cooler in their builds.

They are still bad. A $15 aftermarket cooler can be significantly better. They only case I can see for using the stock cooler is for the lowest possible mobo maybe. Everything else will benefit more by reducing spending on mobo or other component and buying an aftermarket cooler.

In itself yes, but as noted above it's bang for your buck value notably suffers from a lack of any equivalent non-sale price motherboard values that actually looks solid in 3rd party tests to pair it with (and which all are still basically pushing out beta updates for optimal performance).

So yeah, still more debatable then it could be given all the recent sales on AMD's 5600 series and the much easier time you'll have pairing that with a good quality and cheaper MB (assuming you would even need one going that route, of course)

I'm thinking about building my 1st PC. What motherboard you go with a Ryzen 5600x setup.
