I bought this the last month when it was on sale for the same price. My one complaint is that they cheaped out on the buttons. You have to use soooo many combinations of button presses and dial knob adjustments to get the unit to do what you want. For instance, to toast a pair of frozen waffles:

1. Press Power button to turn unit on.
2. Dial the knob until the "Toast" indicator lights up (the default setting for Toast is "4 Slices, 3 Shade").
3. Press the "Time/Slices" button to adjust the number of slices.
4. Dial the knob to "2 Slices".
5. Press the "Temp/Shade" button if you want your waffles a bit more or a bit less toasty than default.
6. Dial the knob to the value of "Shade" desired (1-7).
7. Push the dial knob in to start toasting.

If the waffles did not come out toasty enough for your liking, you'll have to go through steps 5-7 again.

8. Press the Power button to turn the unit off (optional because the unit will eventually power itself down after a certain amount of idle time).

I wish that the unit had a full array of function buttons (Toast, Bake, Broil, etc.) similar to a microwave oven. This would have made it that much easier to use (especially for guests since the procedures are non-intuitive) but since additional buttons cost money (25 cents/button?) they didn't do it.

Of course, once you get used to it, operating the unit becomes second nature but it's more lengthy than it could be and as I said before, not user friendly to guests who don't want to spend time reading the manual or puzzling out the button and dial combinations.

We discovered the bottom tray slides out and if you flip it up the bottom has a door you can remove. That was a game changer in cleaning

I got the slightly different model (FT102) from Costco for $140 on sale. This appears to be the improved FT301, having two more functions (11-in-1 vs. my unit's 9-in-1). This seems like a great price,I highly recommend this oven.

Edit: Double checked, the one I have is the ft101 (older model) which I would gladly pay $140-150 for it again (I have gifted two of the older models). Definite game changer - barely use my oven anymore.

But isn't this FT301? Is there another version of FT301 that you own?

I have the SP301..I think it adds 2 additional functions (reheat and dehydrate). Paid $150 at kohl's after discounts earlier this year.

Excellent air fryer specifically to save counter space as a priority.

It works way better than egg shaped ones but the grease tray isn't that deep. So anything greasy you gotta be careful it doesn't drip down and smoke.

BUHHHHH, just bought this the other week from that OVC deal. Other than that it's great and is outperforming the last air fryer we had and we're saving a lot of space in the kitchen.

Has anyone looked into the type of coatings used on this? Trying to find a solid air fryer that doesn't have any of the toxic non-stick coatings. I'm guessing this is a no-go.

We use a similar model, and absolutely love the thing. It probably now gets 5-6 uses a week for the last 9 months in our home and is holding up well. Top pros is it heats up super fast - rarely takes longer than 30 seconds before it's ready for your food. The pivot base has been extremely helpful in gaining more countertop space and we've had no problems with the balance of the base (just watch for accidentally dropping it down - there's no padding and the heating elements are fragile!).

There aren't many cons - once you find the right settings for everything you toast/bake/air fry you'll almost certainly be using your oven a fraction as much - it's such a huge time saver. The only con I can think of is that the air fryer setting doesn't do quite as amazing as dedicated air fryer appliances, but for an 11-in-1 machine I don't think anyone should expect perfection of each setting.

All currently available nonstick coatings are nontoxic, the older coatings that were toxic were banned many years ago, such as old Teflon formulations. You are probably thinking of things like PFOAs and related chemicals, which have been banned on food related items for some time.

The only nonstick coating on this appliance is on one of the accessories, the searing plate.

You are good to go.

I bought this at full price about a year ago and use it all the time. I love how much counter space is saved by being able to pivot it up.

A couple of cons of this unit: The controls aren't very intuitive and it can take a lot of knob twists / button presses to get the right settings. Also, the fryer basket tray sits pretty high inside the unit so you can't air fry taller foods. I've heated up chicken thighs and some of them got really close to the upper heating element and burned a bit.

This is one of my favorite purchase from the last year. It's killer for making pizza, you can make 6 slices of toast at once, and it's a great air fryer. I think I've sold 4 of them for Ninja just by guests watching me use it Big Grin

Anyway, if you need a toaster oven/air fryer, you'll love this.

is this any good to cook bacon in? Namely, is there a drip pan that would collect the grease?
