Are this good enough or better to wait for M18 Fuel version 0970-20?
45 CFM vs 50 CFM. Are the 5 CFM difference a lot?

Fuel was definitely a huge difference and worth it for me on loudness, power, and packout compatibility.

I had the M12 FUEL, which also has 45 CFM, and now I have the M18 Fuel version. I personally didn't notice much of a difference. I have other packout boxes so that was what mainly appealed to me. I bought my M18 Fuel version for a little under $135 and thought it was worth the upgrade. However, I would rather buy this at $99 than to pay full price for the M18 fuel version (~$199).

I have this. I wish it sucked more. It only sucks a little bit. Super light-duty stuff only, limited usefulness.

We use this for our boat and it works great. It isn't a full size vacuum so I don't expect it to work like a full size...that being said it depends what your use is...for me it is great.

If you get this, get a M18 HD12.0 battery or you'll be annoyed.

Yes, I have it and love it. Barely used my other shop vac now. I just keep the big one in case I need to vacuum up a giant water spill.

HOWEVER, if I can hijack this thread for a second, how do you all empty shop vacs that don't have hermetically sealed vac bags?

Great product. I use it weekly with a 5.0ah battery and I have no complaints.

Just dump it into a (bagged) trash can? Is it supposed to be more complicated than that?

If you use that big of a battery and happen to drop the vacuum, the battery's weight is likely to break off the mounting tabs - so if you do it, I suggest sliding something in behind the battery to brace it in place.

I hadn't thought of that. I read reviews that the 9.0 and up were the way to go but that the 9.0 (I think) was being discontinued, per my pawn shop guy that sells crazy cheap Milwaukee stuff to me. I also tried the 5.0 and felt a noticeable difference in life and sucking power with the 5.0 vs 12.0

One other thing I love about this vac is I attach a Marshalltown sanding vacuum head to the hose and suck up sand while manually sanding. It's not as fancy as the electric counterparts but way cheaper.

This isn't that great of a deal to be honest. It's been around $66 before with the hack

No hack for both M18 Fuel and Non-Fuel lately?

vcg construction did a comparison where they did side by side with sand, sawdust, and then did liquid through a tube. Their consensus was in order for the fuel to work as well as the non-fuel... you had to ramp up the motor. The non-fuel did better in picking up the sand and sawdust, but not as good as the water.

I'm a DeWalt guy but the Dewalt vacuum doesn't look all that great and it's $160-180 ($180 for the one I want that's battery/corded). Bought this for $90+tax after military discount so as long as I can find a battery/charger for $70-90 I guess I'm in good shape. Even slightly more since it's a better product per Project Farm. Is that realistic? Worst case I'll return it unopened, or cancel.
