Completely agree. As an enthusiast who build computers for friends and family, if someone came to me today and asked me for a $2000 gaming computer I would point them to this. Just main components wise it's a very good deal.

i7 12700k - not top of the line but just 1 step below it. Such a better value vs i9.

3080 - I always consider XX70 to be the minimum needed to call it an enthusiast level gaming computer. 3080 is a meaningful step up and $/FPS is still very good. 3080 Ti onwards the value proposition falls of a cliff for 'gaming'

16 GB RAM - speaking purely on gaming terms, it's enough. You won't see the quantity of RAM be a bottleneck. Very few games are sensitive enough to high speed RAM to justify higher spending. So long as the RAM is running at 3200 - 3600 you should be fine

1 TB SSD - Enough for windows + apps + 3/4 of your most played games. If space is really a constraint because of a large game library, buy an additional HDD for the not so often played games. Media can obviously stay in HDD.

Thus, in my opinion this computer makes the right compromises and strikes the right balance to call itself an enthusiast level gaming computer
Raptor Lake isn't coming until 2nd half of 2022, and sources seem to put it around September. This i7 (12th gen) was released Nov 2021, placing the CPU right in the middle of the release cycle. People can continue to wait until Fall, and see if the more expensive 13th gen CPUs and Motherboards change pricing. At that point, perhaps they should wait until next year to see pricing drop even more? As for a good deal, I don't think you'll find a better sub $2k PC right now. But like with most technology, prices will likely drop over time...., so today, this is a good deal.
Use coupon code KRIPP for an additional $50 off.

This looks like the deal I've been waiting for. 12th gen intel + 3080. But think I'm going to wait on a few more comments from people smarter than me first before jumping.

Based on a quick glance, airflow and cooling "should" be good. The entire front is mesh, with 3 fans blowing in. One fan on the back, and two at the top blowing out. This seems to be the recommended configuration for cooling. If you don't plan to overclock much, this looks to be very decent. NZXT makes most liquid coolers for ibuypower, so this should be a solid after-market cooler as well.

Some people prefer the radiator at the top, and some at the front. This build is at the front. Personally, I would rather have fresh cool air cooling my CPU. Some people don't like this, because now the air is already warm when entering the case. Personally, I like how the bottom, front fan will bring in fresh cool air, right across the GPU. All this warm air is then removed out the back and top.

Maybe upgrade the warranty to cover shipping? $20 will easily pay for shipping, should you ever need it over 3 years.

Based solely on the pictures, the video card seems to be an unmarked MSI Gaming Trio card, assuming you get the exact card in the pictures. Seems to be one of the only cards with the RGB lighting on the backplate.

Edit:
Assuming pictures are accurate, the motherboard is the ASUS Prime Z690-P D4.

If you have waited this long just keep waiting, prices should be far lower for soon to be outdated Processors/GPUs. This is okay for those that need a computer right now and cannot wait, otherwise hold out.. but I cannot say it is a good deal in general.

It's more about the GPU being outdated than the CPU, CPU is overkill anyways.

Looks like a solid deal just based off the specs, I might bite. Anyone with experience buying directly from ibuypower that cares to weigh in?

edit: Generally I've noticed people seem to report more positive experiences when buying directly from suppliers like iBuyPower and cyberpowerpc than through a third party like Newegg/Amazon etc

I bought the i9 version from a couple weeks ago. it had 32gb ram. I can't speak to the 3080 in this but mine came with a Gigbyte. The system came in good order and works as expected. No complaints. (Well one, the keyboard they give you is kinda bad, but I've got my pre-existing one so whatever - small potatoes there).

I was in the same dilemma waiting for the new rtx 40 series and possibly the next gen intels. But to be honest how long are you gonna wait? Wait til the 4s come out and people will be telling you to wait for the NEXT gen.

Just depends on what you're missing out on. The opportunity cost of waiting is real if you're on your CPU gaming all the time. Plus an expected paper launch in q-3/4 and most people can't realistically expect to get a 4 series until next year.

Not too bad, but c'mon iBUYPOWER, for that price it should be 32 GB memory. DDR4 is on the way out.
Don't get me wrong, I have 2 of their systems, one about 3 yrs old the other 2 and have had zero problems.
