I have a Theragun massager. I also have a few other massagers like Chinese knockoffs from Amazon and sharper image from Costco. I have also tried 2 other massagers that were on sale at Costco (I forget the names). Below are my thoughts:

If you are big, muscular or beefy buy Theragun prime. The higher amplitude is necessary to penetrate deeper into the muscle to remove knots and aches. If you are bonier or thin buy sharper image, which is also currently on sale at Costco.

Sharper Image massager is good for forearms, arms, calves and near spine as well. It doesn't hurt and has good power. Theragun is great, even necessary, for the bigger muscle groups like quads, glutes, hamstrings, shoulders, etc.

Do not buy Chinese knockoffs with 1000 reviews on Amazon. All are fake reviews or bought reviews. The machines are horrible. They stall, make noise or just break.

Do not buy Theragun Pro with 60 lbs of force. 95% of the population will barely go till 40 lbs, so it's a waste of money. Theragun Pro is great for commercial establishments like physical therapists, wellness centers, etc because of the interchangeable battery. Home use does not need interchangeable battery or as much force as advertised, so save your money.

From BB's site:

"Do you match the prices of a Warehouse club?

Yes. We do match the prices of Warehouse clubs as long as the Warehouse club is a local retail competitor, has an identical immediately available product and all other price match criteria are met. If the Warehouse club website price requires a membership ID or login to view, price match is only available in our store (not via phone or chat) and must be a live offer (not a screenshot)."

You'd be better to buy from Costco and return your BB one, Costco has a better return policy.

Not sure about your logic there. You see some shoes online buy them, get them and decide they don't look good on you, return it. You buy a massage gun and find it really doesn't help you, return it. Same principle, nothing wrong there.

Now buying a prom dress, wearing it to prom and returning it. Thats differernt and makes sense as not ethical.

I bought this for 50 and it's changed my life. No joke, everyone in my home uses it now, and it is very solid. I'll report back if/when it fails. Percussion Massage Gun, Upgrade... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09J93X...b_ap_share

That's interesting. I bought the sharper image one and was planning to return it. No one in my house uses it.

I bought the pro last year. One of the best purchases of the year, if not "the" best.

Is the Prime better than the Sharper Image one that I just bought?

Do not buy! I bought one in March, it failed in a week. I mailed it in for a replacement. They still haven't sent one! WORST customer service ever.

Another Apple-like overpriced product. How are these better than the $50 knock offs?
Night and day, but you wont know unless your train enough to warrant a Theragun. I train 4 times a week + 2 times intense spin class. I have tried the "50 amazon knockoffs" then moved to the costco $150 ones and then the theragun. It's absolutely night and day.

I swear by my Theragun, I have the Elite model. It's much better than the copies.

However, the oil stops working pretty quickly. The device gets quite loud, like 70dB+. And their replacement oil costs $30 on their website only, currently OOS. Using any other oil voids the warranty.

If anyone has recommendations for an oil replacement that they've used, lmk.

so it's good for those suffering from trigger points / knots from working out? i'm probably not as active as you but i do enough to have issues. foam rolling worked well for me in the beginning but now every time i try i get debilitating hamstring or rectus abdominis spasms. this thing is kinda expensive, i don't think i could spend that kind of money; is it worth the premium over much cheaper brands??

yeah basically knots/trigger points etc. Foam rolling did nothing for me, cheap guns were ok, theragun has taken it to a new level. Franky 200 bucks is GREAT and you can always return back to Costco if you think it doesn't help

After spending $50-$75 for cheap brands only to have them fail me after a few months (6 months being the standard), I bit the bullet on this brand. So far it has been 6 months and the mechanism sounds and feels just like the day that I bought it. I'm tempted to buy another just because these hold up much better to the cheap knockoffs that may cost 1/3rd the price but last 1/6th the time. If you buy the cheap ones and expect them to last, sure as long as you leave them in the box.

no, i can't. i don't return items simply because i don't like them or think they don't work - that goes against my principles. but appreciate your input; i'll have to think on it.
