Rocketbook Smart Reusable Dotted Grid or Lined Notebook (Letter Size) Expired

I really want to love the rocketbook system, but I just can't get around some major flaws: you can't use the eraser on the pen to erase. It damaged the pages. To erase you need to use water and the microfiber cloth that gets inkstained after a while and needs to be washed. Over time, the ink will stain the pages, especially with the .5 frixion pens that are said to be incompatible with the rocketbook in some sources. With the right deal, I might give it another shot. For $25 you can get the fusion notebook which has templates and a few black pages in both dot and lined.

Keep in mind rocketbook ink erases with water, that's kind of the point, but also means spills and moisture can be a big problem. It isn't like paper where the page is ruined but text stays if it gets wet, it's inverse the text gets wiped out but pages are laminated so they'll be fine.

I looked at the wipe book page and it's kinda weird, like someone wanted to steal the rocketbook idea (if wipe book was first I'd never heard of them, had rocket books for years) but avoid parents so it's kind of just a crappy version. It looks like they found a vendor to make similar ink pens, but the paper is more plastic/glossy so the ink doesn't set in as well, making it easier to erase than rocketbook but harder than normal dry erase. I guess if you want that, something more like a dry erase, that's good.

And yes in both cases the "smart" is an app that scans the pages in. It's not just taking a picture, the apps use dots on the pages to figure out what orientation the page really is and warp correct the image you took so the images of your writing are correctly proportioned the way it looks in real life. I've only used rocketbook's, but this tech is convenient. Sometimes it takes more than one picture to get a very crisp image if there's very small text. Probably depends on the quality of your phone camera, mine is not terrible but not the best.

Speaking of small text though - this is what completely sold me on rocketbook, I wanted something like a boogie board but that actually had the resolution of writing with a real pen and could save your writing internally. Well, rocketbook still requires you to take pictures to save them, but the true equivalent of writing on a notepad is 99% there (the pens take a bit to dry, which is like writing but using gel pens). My ideal is still for it to have some sort of basic electronic page like a Kindle white with that detailed pen level resolution and automatic digital saving. But that's way harder to achieve.
