You don't even need 60 days of service. You can have a 1 month contract and cancel, 60 days after activation (whether or not you have service then) the iphone will automatically get unlocked. You should receive a message when it unlocks.

Hey, that is good news. I bought the Apple Phone XR during the last deal (black friday?) and haven't activated with TW yet. So if I activate, use the included 1 month service, then sit on it for a month... it will be unlocked?

My initial plan was to take the TW sim card out and put in a Tracfone sim card and go from there, then I understand that the phone is locked to TW until 60 days of service, but now it looks like only 30 days of service is required. Good news.

Were you also able to add a promo code without adding plan? Looks like it's $5 cheaper in the end to get the $25 plan than not, which opens up unlocking as well, which doesn't matter if this is just for trade purposes. . .but $5 is $5 lol

Yes, you only need to pay for 30 days, which you've already done. Why not go ahead and activate and get it over with? It not like you're breaking the seal on a new phone lol.

Wonder how long you can wait to activate one of those phones with preloaded sims anyways?
