Almost picked up as I did not realize there were two models of the MSI Spatium drive. I picked up a M470 1TB for $75 on newegg a few months back.
The M470 has a DRAM cache and much higher endurance rating which was the selling point for me the first time. I do not think I would purchase this lower end model. (M450)

This is about the slowest pcie 4.0 drive possible, but reportedly works on a ps5 if your budget is tight.
Also this has a 5 year warranty when a lot of budget drives usually come with a 3 year warranty.
Wish it came in a 2tb version.

this is about the same speed as the WD battlefield 2042 drives that went on clearance at game stop for 70

The slowest is actually a WD Black SSD that has a speed of 3200, at least that I've seen, and even that one works perfectly fine with the PS5. Digital Foundry tested it, and it only loaded games 1 second slower than the stock SSD. Sometimes it didn't even have that extra second. No games use the full bandwidth of SSDs yet. I have a 1TB WD Black SN750 SE that I got for $75, that has the same 3600 as this, though the PS5 reads it at 3400, and even at the 3400, there is zero difference between it and the stock one. The only thing is that you won't be future-proofed with this.

For some reason, I thought the model name read "Sputum," which made me say " WHATTTT?" 😁

The WD ones at GameStop were on sale for $75. I grabbed one and I love it.

If you're on a 570 board or one that supports PCIe gen4 and running a gen3 M.2 then this would be a noticable upgrade however for just a few dollars more there are many more choices that are much faster.

Going from Gen3 to Gen4 was huge, basically double the lanes, Gen 4 maybe short lived with 5 and 6 on the near horizon but gaming boards supporting intel (Alder Lake) are not out in mass and AMD (Ryzen 7000) yet to hit shelves.

Good read on this earlier this year https://www.xda-developers.com/amd-ryzen-7000/
