Amazon reviews aren't very encouraging. Could be a fun gift idea but based on several notes of it arriving broken or breaking with very little use, I don't know if I would count on this being a good impulse buy that will last the test of time. $50 might be a good price to roll the dice though. It can always be returned if it breaks early on.

EDIT: found this impressions video that wasn't very encouraging either. maybe they have updated their app and connectivity but it seemed like if you back out of the device screen in the app or turn your screen off, it auto disconnected from Bluetooth? I could be wrong but I have children climbing on me right now so I can't double check this second

It just sounds a bit too gimmicky for me. i guess the point is to make it easier for logging and journaling exact data points when catching fish, if you're into that sort of thing. I'd rather save my $50 for something else though
